directors of the Fair association at a
directors' meeting ut the rhnmber of
commerce hall Tuesday night author-
ized the president .1. M. Pickering to
make financial arrangements for the
erection of a live stock exhibition
building a poultry shed and (M) stalls
for the racing stables at the fair
grounds. With the erection of these
buildings the building program of the
fair will be complete for this season
and with these buildings complete the
association will be in a position to
make a splendid showing at the Cen-
tenninl exhibition this fall.

rapacity mid n main exhibition build

and a half-mile regulation race track
finished. With the completion of the
buildings as contemplated by the di-
rectors at Tuesday's meeting Vic-
toria will have one of the best ami

Grapeland Plans Big
Fall Trade Campaign

trade campaign which will include a
monthly Trades day nt which tinis
merchants will co-operate with special
prices. A number of attractive pre-
miums will also he given away on
these dates. Members of the cham-
ber r if commerce have also planned it

munities in the lirapelatid trade ter-
ritory which is planned to take pluco
the iast week in August.

point in the history of the town al-
though crops are considerably lute

Farmer Restrained From
Selling Own Cotton

W. K. Hopkins judge of the twenty-
eighth district court this week grant-
ed an injunction against .1. Kaplan of
Krownsville restraining him from sell-
ing any of his cotton crop other than
through the offices of the Texas Kurni
Hureau Cotton association. The ap-
plication for the injunction was made
by ? K. Uullard attorney of the :.s-
sociatimi. It was alleged in the application
fnr the injunctirm that Kaplan sold
12 bales of cotton last week in viola
tion of his marketiqg contract with
Ihe association I ncker the termn r.f
the contract Kaplan snid the peti-
tion agreed that all cotton raised bv
him was to be sold only through the
association during n period of five
years ending with the year l'Jl'j.
Brazos County School
Trustees Meet at Bryan

IIRYAN". Texas. Aug. 8. The
school trustees of Brazos county hold
a meeting Thursday nt the count v
court house to discuss matters look
ing to the welfare of the schools of
the county. The meeting was pre-
sided over by Prof. W. I. Hughes of
the department of vocational teaching
of the A. and M. college. The meet
ing was very largely attended and was
of vital interest to Brazos rounty'e.
schools.
At noon the trustees were guests of
Ihe Itrvnn chamber of commerce at a
luncheon at the Green Parrot Tea
room. A number of impromptu talks
were made all of them dealing with
important school questions.
Oil Field Worker Killed
