match. This makes the interior of
" the car attractive and inviting. There

ing of the shroud at the right.
The Buick coach bodies are
equipped with tbe new ventilating and
clear vision one-piece windshield. This
windshield is easily adjusted by a han-
dle and can be opened part way for
Jiving a circulation of air around one's
eet or opened wide enough to give a
direct draught through the body of
the car. When closed it forme a water-tight
joint with the shroud. The
attractiveness and convenience of this
new ventilating windBineld will be ap
predated after it has once been seen
and demonstrated.
All interior hardware to attractive-
ly finished and heavily nickel plated.
Jfhe doors have cold drawn manganese
steel hinges and an invisible door stop.

in the panels back of the doors can
be easily lowered or raised by a few
turns of a revolving handle.
The instruments are of a special
shape t6 harmonize with the body de-
sign and are neatly grouped in tbe
center of tbe instrument panel. They
are indirectly lighted by a concealed
instrument lamp recessed in the
shroud.
The Buick qoaches are equipped
with rear vision mirror automatic
windshield wipen dome lamp rear
window shade and toot rest for oc-
cupants of 'the rear seat. Tbe regu
lar tool equipment and spire rim are
turnisned.
A special heater can be applied and
easily assembled by tbe dealer at a
slight extra coat.
General specifications include: 120-
inch jvheelbase 4.1 to 1 rear axle re-
duction 114 3-8 inch wheelbane 4.9
to 1 rear axle reduction; both models
are equipped with artillery type wood
wheels. .

Dirt and water have the same rnv
aging effect on an automobile that
tuberculosis has on a human being
sapping the strength and shortening
the life of the vital parts of sn auto-
mobile's motive plant. That if is pos
sible to tnwart these destructive ele
ments by locking them out of every
vital moving part la being demon-
strated this week in the show room
of the Braxos Valley Buick company
distributors.
The exhibit consists of a stripped
chassis with ribbons and seals point-
ing out the nine vital points where
dirt and water are kept out and lu-
bricant kept in by tbe special Buick
construction. The display shows that
every part of engine and transmission
from fan to resr axle is sealed
against tbe intrusion of road dirt and
water.
The hub and bearing of the fan are
completely inclosed and are equipped
with a special gear pump to supply
adequate and proper lubrication.
The second point marked in the ex
hibit is the steel motor cover. This
hot only protects the exterior work
ing parts of the engine from gritty
road dust and keeps lubricants from
contamination but also prevents mois-
ture from getting to the spark plugs

of this mechanism in a single housinc

from any danger of road damage or

Following back along the transmis
sion system tbe exhibit points out
the methods by which the multiple
disc clutch transmission gears and
universal joint are housed and sealed
against dirt. It also shows how the
universal joint is automatically lubri-
cated from the transmission.

peller shaft bousing which forms the
torque tube or third member and
through which the driving impulse is
transmitted from wheela to chassis
rather than through the springs. This
torque tube fully incloses the pro-
' peller shaft making It impossible for
' road dirt to work into either the uni-
versal joint or rear axle from the
shaft. The rear axle also is com
pletely boused..
Tests have shown Buick engineers
report that a small quantity of gritty

From this time on "coach" ideas will be revised for the type
of coach that Buick presents changes the standards that prer
viously have governed coach construction. Here finally is a
car of the coach type that is a real closed car one in which
closed car quality comfort equipment and durability have
not been sacrificed to price.
This Buick Coach embodying these new principles of coach
design is available on either of the two dependable Buick
chassis. There is a Master Six Coach and a Standard Six
Coach the quality is identical. The chassis are the same
Buick chassis that furnish such outstanding performance to
the other models of Buick; with the famous Buick valve-in-head
engines; with Buick 4-wheel brakes; with all driving
parts concealed in iron and steel housings to keep dirt and
water out and lubrication in; with Buick torque tube drive
and with Buick cantilever springs to provide the utmost riding
comfort.

Besides being built on the Buick Chassis Buick
Coaches show these advantages over the ordinary
coach types :
The Body Is Built by Fisher i
These new Buicks present the same smart sweep-
ing contours as other Buick closed cars. They are
moulded to shape from heavy gauge material with
no box-like corners or unsightly joints.
The Finish Is Duco '
The Master Six Coach in Duco Cobalt Blue with
upper structure in black ; the Standard Six Coach in
Duco Brewster Green with upper structure in black
a finish identical with that of the most costly cars.
Two Wide Doors
Permit people to enter or leave the rear seat from
either side without front seat occupants needing to
get out of tne car. There are deep cushions on the
back of the seats as well as on the seats and plenty
of leg room. The rear seat holds three grown peo-
ple in comfort.
The New Fisher V. V. One-Piece
Ventilating Windshield
Both Buick Coaches have this new feature of
closed car convenience and comfort. This wind-
shield is held tightly in padded grooves and opens
or closes with a turn of one hand.
Buick Coaches are Fitted With Refinements.
Heretofore found only on costly enclosed cars. Here
is interior hardware of the most attractive pattern;
windows that are opened and closed by the latest
most modern window-lifting appliances; a foot rest
for rear seat occupants ; an automatic windshield
wiper; a rear-view mirror; a dome light; and a silk
roll curtain for the rear window.
And Buick 4-Wheel Brakes for Safety.
These are the first coaches to be offered with mod-
ern Hrake equipment.
