Pointing outv that we must obtein
our thinking leaders from the schools
and colleges. Dr. Achesen then called
attention to tur peer educational tt-
dlibes. "Wt have reached the point
where we feed the pupils with a drib-
ble ef liters tore aid art and neglect
the worthwhile things. In these days
of obedience of the perents to their
children we are sugsr -coating their
knowledge We need a revival of love
of lee ruing. The ideals of the school
room will later dominate the nation."
He stressed the need for State
schools and their mission. This work
bad ae quarrel with the work of Stete
Institutions. The Christian school is
the school to develop Christian char
acter and from them come 00 nor
cent of our church leaders both lay
and clergy rupport and maintain the
State school and equip our own
schools so that they will educate our
Christian lesders now wanted as
never before to repel these attacks
upon our democracy."
Dr. Ache son will remsin la the dty

tore of Houston. He will then re-
turn to Danville Ky.
BOARD 'EQUALIZES'
'KEY' HEN'S WAGES
IN RAIL DECISION
Associated Press R sport.
CHICAGO. Nov. 25. Increases in
wagea affecting approximately 5500
railroad telegraphers and station
agents and aggregating approximately
$364482 were awarded in a dedeloa
announced tonight by the United
Btatea railroad labor board. The
board explained that it had attempted
to correct existing tnequslities with-
out attempting standardisation and
without rranticc a central increase.
Tht payment of a punitive rate of
tune and one nau lor overtime to
telegraphers and station agents also
was awarded aid a few other minor
changes in rules were authorised.
The parties to the case in which the
decision wet rendered are the Broth
erhood of Railway Station Employes
the Order of Railroad Telegraphers
and 26 railroad companies. The plans
pursued by the board was to deny in-
creases on roads where it found the
existing rates equal to the everage
paid on comparable roads In tht tame
territory and to award increases on
other roads which would bring tbdr
rates up to the everege paid by corn-
pars hit roads in their territory. The
Increases granted range from 2 to 5
cents an hour.
