demonstrated that his abilities did not lie

several poems. He also urged the mem-

vote for the six amendments to the con-
stitution reminding the diners that sev-
- eral weeks ago the club had indorsed the
amendment.

Actual Work on Senior
High School Starts Soon
Work on the Senior High school build-
ing to be erected Just back Of the Fed-
eral building in the old Central High
school location will start this week. Con-
tractors have had their workmen and
wagons busy for two mtSnfhs cleaning up
the debris and salvaging what good bricks
tho Ug fir had left and hav completed
their: work and turned ovr the wtir

Th building will be a three-story coo
position fireproof structure facing Cap
itol avenue with a 260-foot front and
will hav what the contractor call a
horseshoe shape the front being parallel
to Capitol avenue and the two adjoining
wing parallel to San Jacinto and Austin
streets. This will leave a square space
in the back of about 100 feet each way
for playground. Th school ia planned o
that any futur date the city sees fit this
vacant space may be uaed to add a large
auuiionum to tne main trauding.
Th American Construction company
has been awarded the contract and will
operate two cement mixers and two steam
hoisting cranes and will employ from 60
to lw men th number to be determined
by tne weather and the arrival of mat'
rial.
The building will cost approximately
