1 (Houston Pest SpecitJ.) '
GALVESTON Texas April The
Buffs kept good their old edge on Henry
.. Cheltte Sunday afternoon when In a
hearty sixth Inning rally they drove the
Shreveport boy to cover and amaaaed
enough runs to cinch an ultimate 6 to t
victory- from the -time that Chelette
broke in with Shreveport through his
Oklahoma City daya. Houston was always
able to beat Chelette. They- dirt it again
toaay. '
"A tremendous Sunday crowd "of .4000
came out to aee a Corsair succvyss but
only the rooters from Houston welt away
happy the Bayou bugs and Rogr Ed-
mondson Pat Newnam and companVv
For three innings Chelette was liiXihci-
ble while the home team found hoAts of
' victory in three well earned runs. Inthe
fourth the visitors garnered two tavties
off the Galveston twiner but it waa ot
until the sixth that Johnny Frlerson
launched the punitive expedition that waa
to turn the tables on yesterday's stinging
defeat and drive Chelette Into exile. .
Johnny led -off the alxth with a linef to
Stuart who booted it. Pat Newnam sin-
gled. The next two men went down but
Uarner connected with a clean double to
right center scoring Frlerson .and New-
. nam. Jenkins then Dumped the pill for a
triple to left and Garner counted. Che-
lette hit Edmondson and was Jerked.' The
inning was over when Lee forced Ed-
mondson. v
The first two runs of the Buffaloes were
in the fourth. Frlerson and Newnam sin-
gled. Citrano forced Newnam but was
safe when Stauart threw -wild to first.
Frlerson scoring on the error. Tullos
whiffed and Cltranp scored on Garner's
ingle.
In the ninth Le tripled to right and
panned on Frlerson's single.
Galveston's runs in the second were on
. Murray's single and Stuart's home run
the latter making four bases out of a
grounder to the club house. MJIler's dou--
ble a sacrifice by Hille and double by
' Matthews added one in the third.
The fielding end of the game today was
both wretched and sensational. The fast-
est double play of the season temporarily
i dashed Houston's hopes in the third when
Stuart stopped Edmondson' stinging
grounder and Breaux pulled off a double
from left field -in the eighth getting
' Citrano at first after a great catch of
Tullos' fly adding to the sensation the
same Inning by pulling down Jenkins'
liner to left center with a man on base.
The best catch of the day was Frlerson's
manipulation of Breaux'a fly in the sev-
enth. . '
Umpire MeCaff ertyv. was struck three
times by a pitched ball one blow taking
him in the esophagus and paralysing his
voice for some minutes t- the amusement
of stands ana players.

1 NOTES Or THE QAME.
Buddy" Napier is slated to pitch this
afternoon's game on the island. .
Slug Garner got his first opportunity to
plsv that light garden regularly and fig-
ured with two hits.
' Meanwhile Dallas won its first game.
And win today will give Houston an
even break on the trip.
Eddie Noyes keeps up his batting streak.
He was always one of the best batting
maskmen in the league.
Citrano had the first bad day at Short
he hasSiad since joining the club. An
off day once in a while is coming.
Johnny Frlerson continues his every
other day hitting of three safeties. Jawn
under his rotation theory will be in great
trim for the opening day Tuesday.
