You can hardly wai t scnething big is

comet--it does satisfy! That's the identical
tiling Chesterfields do for your smoking
they satisfy!
And yet Chesterfields are mild!
It is this combination of mildness and

Panthers Showed Signs of Coming to Life and Gave Classy
Contest Before fans of Corsicana Losing 3 to 2.
X
Houston Post Sptcial
CORSICANA. Texas August 9. Had
Fort Worth fans seen their' club hero
Wednesday afternoon they hardly would
have recognised the bunch aa the Pan-
thers who at homo had their' heads down
and showed a decided lack of life. On
the local lot they gave the half thousand
Corsicanians a classy exhibition when
they hooked up with Newnant's Buffs In
a transferred scheduled game! they lost 2
4o 8 but their hearts Were ir. their work
and they fought back with mors of a snarl
that would have met the gaxer of the Pan-
ther fans would have been Hollander as
leadoff man. I t
The little second baseman f 111 realist
In no shape to play being as yellow as a
pumpkin but he put up a lively exhibi-
tion on the rough lnfleld at the local park.
Carl Manda got his first home run of the
season. He clouted the ball a ray away
over the head of Lee and lnclde itally over
the left field fence and Into a corn field
on the outskirts of the oil city. It was a
humdinger of a wallop and natives say
they got their money's worth on Carl's
long swat alone. Roger Edmondson op-
posed Hertford on the mound and neither
was up to snuff. Not an opponent for
either was puzzled sufficiently to whiff
three times or to let Wilson Matthews call
three on them. They all preferred to take
chances on the tall grass in the outfield
and more often than not they got awav
with anything that went anywhere but
a homer but he contributed two other
blows both clean singles. In the first
Inning for Houston Seitz hit to left field
rjrierson singled to right putting Seitz on
third. Northen attempted to bunt but
got a safe hit on the effort and Seitz
scored. In the first Fort Worth also
scored. Bailey walked. Manda got his
first hit of the day with a single by short
Mclver hit to right center scoring Bailey
but Manda was thrown out at third by
Northen who made a great peg. In the
fourth with two down Houston scored an
other. Jenkins walked and stole second
Kdmondson's single to right field scored
Jenkins. The Buffs won It In the eighth.
Newnam doubled to right. Tullos put his
boss on third with a sacrifice. Cltrano
pulled Newnam's favorite a nifty squeeze
and Pat scored easily.
