FOREIGN MISSION
ATTRACTS BRAZIL
Associated Press Report.
RIO DK JANKKIOi Braaii For
ign missions have become the
ash ion in Krazil. A French army
mission under the command of uen
eral Gamelin has been here for about
hree years assisting in the reorgan
ization of the Brazilian arm. An
American naval mission commanded!
by Hear Admiral Carl Vogelgesang
has been working here for a year in-
roducmg modern method in the Bra
than navy. A British financial and
commercial mission arrived in Rio de
aneiro December 31 at the inrita-
ion of the Brazilian government.
All of these missions have attract
ed public interest both within and
outside the country. The army and
navy missions hae been the cause of
comment and criticism in the other
South American countries. Now the
British financial and commercial mis-
ion is focusing the attention of the
commercial representatives of other
countries.
In a statement to The Associated
rress Sir Klw.tS S. Montagu chief
of the British mission said that the
Brazilian government wished to carry
out without delay a general plan of
inancial restoration and to give the
greatest economic national develop
ment especially to cotton iron ne

ry and its great productive capacity.
may result in freer application of
nrlisb capital to the prosperity of
Krazil. Members of the mission said
hey eipected to remain Bern about
hree months.
Both the Brazilian government and
he British mission have avoided
making any statement concerning pos-
toie loans to Brazil but it is rumored
hat British capitalists have surrest-

ake over and consolidate all Bra-
