Clear weather prevails tonight over the east-
ern cotton belt the southern plateau region and
the North Central States. Elsewhere the weather
is generally clear. At the time of observation
tonight rain or snow was falling over a large
area extending from Denver Colo. to New
Kngland. The heaviest rainfall reported in the
past -4 hours is 14- inches at Louisville. Ky.
The advance of the cold wave has been slow.
A sharp fall in temperature is noted this even-
ing over Kansas Oklahoma and the Panhandle
of Texa. but as yet the wave has not reached
Northca.-tern Texas for temperature in that
section is tilf above the normal.
The Inchest temperatures reported today from
kTexas stations range from Ht degrees at Abi-
rillo. The higher today at Houston was 7H
degree.
Ihe weather in this vicinity Wednesday will
he colder probably with rain.
