southwest of production is In a water
sand at SU4 feet. Is cleaning out
preparatory to drilling deepei. In-
terest In this test is centered in its

. . came in as a 1000-barreler last week
Is now flowing TOO barrels from the
' ' pay topped at 1453 feet and penetrated
. ' one foot. This is the corrected steel
line measurement.
The finding of the sand at this level
' makes It the shallowest producing
" horlsoa; in the gusher row on the eaat-
;srn portion of the Robberson struc-
V ' ture. The bur wells which include
'those which earns In with Initial pro-
- Auctions of 2200 barrels. 1100 barrels
'and 1000 barrels run on a Una fu
east and West. Threa hundred feet to
the north and across the half section
line there are a similar number of
producers with sands running an av-
erage' f '100 feet deeper and the pro-
duction at a greatly decreased figure.
One-fourth of a mile south of the half
sect Ion-line are also the same number
f producers most of which have been
completed as gassers in tns uuu-root
sand. In this portion of the field
Weaver-Reynolds are drilling in the
southeast of southwest quarter of the
section and if the structure dips to
the south of the half section line as it
does to the north the well will pick
up the pay at around 1700 feet. The
wells to the south ot the gusher rew
are atoo greatly decreased In yield as
. compared with the output of the big'
wella
The structure In section 12 of the
Robberson pool teiay be compared to
the closed fist of the human hand
with the knuckles representing the
portion on which the big wells have
been brought in and the slops on both
sides as ths dip in ths pay formation.
This is ths manner in which a well
known geologist familiar with the
field Illustrates It .
Another good producer In the te-tw
country of Stephens county Is reported
in the Magnolia Petroleum company's
No. 2 Katy Farrls northeast of
southeast quarter of M-2s-6w whloh
Is flowing 1(0 barrels dally from pay
topped at approximately 1700 test and
penetrated 12 feet. The well started
its flow at the rate of sight barrel
an hour. Another well beta- com-
pleted in the field is ths Lose Star
Osa company's No 1 Martin north
east ef southwsst quarter of t-ks-Mw

at around 2100 test. Gauge ot the
production has not as yet been re-
ported. Empire Gas and Fuel company Is
fishing for a lost bit In IU Na. 1 Pries
northeast of northeast quarter at 33-2s-7w

75000000
square yards of
Concrete pave-
ment have been
placed under
contract this
year a gain of
morcthan30per
cent over last
year the largest
previous year.
The construction thus
provided for and to a
large extent completed
is equivalent to more
than 7000 miles of 18-
foot pavement
That is a larger amount
of Concrete highway
than there was in the
country altogether up
to 1917 .
These facts witness the
determination of this
country to have roads
equal to the traffic they
bear.
Yet even with this great
record the output of
motor vehicles contin-
ues to outstrip by far
the construction of
motor! roads
The revolution in road
traffic due to the auto-
mobile has'called for
holeproof; skid-proof
really enduring pave-
ment; and - Concrete
fills the need. f;
That is the explana-
tion of the steady rapid
gain in Concrete road
construction during
the last decade the
largest development in
