Called for Galveston Jlprll 3
The Flan Proposed
Houstoa Post
On the 12th of last December a
meeting composed of Galveston
La Porte North Galveston Hous-
ton and other south Texas business-
men was held at the cotton ex-
change in this city with a view of
uniting all interests in advertising
the resources of tho country and
securing excursion rates from north-
ern and eastern population centers
At the same time full report of the
proceedings was published in the
Post accompanied by an editorial
indorsing the movement The
matter was allowed to drop until
the Vut fow days
The largest property holders and
leading business men of Houston
and Galveston have expressed the
belief that the union men of all
south Texas interests will be mu-
tually beneficial and several have
consented to sign a complication of
statistics giving tho advantages of
the entire section withoutlocal re
ference The climate railroad bus
iness cotton crops truit yield aud
many other items of vital interest
can thus be given to the world
signed by men and firms whose
standing in the commercial world
rs reported by Dim and Bradstreet
will be sufficient guarantee of their
reliability As the first meeting
was held in Houston the Post
would suggest that the next gather-
ing bo at Galveston Every city
town and syndicate and railroad in
terested in the development of
south Texas should send a delega-
tion to represent its interests at this
meeting
Since the above was written the
Post has been r < quested to call the
meeting at Galveston lor April 3
and to appeal for a full attendance

states the wife is liable te be sued
for the expenses of the family 83
ho husband is in this state A
wife has been held liable for tha
payment of the family bntcher
bill when the husband ordered its

ot the perfect equality between mea
