COACH O. W. STRAHAN
COACH ROBERT SHELTON
COACH J. E. SHEFFIELD
These three names and the fact that
these men will he with us next year to
again give for S. W. T. N. C. the game,
the spirit, and the fight that the Bob-
cats have displayed during the last
year is one great reason why we are
looking forward to the year of 1922-
23 as the greatest in the history of the
school.
Coach Strahan is the man that was
directly responsible for the champion-
ship record of the Bobcats last year,
and the man that has put them on the
map_ in Texas college athletics. His
opinion of the next year is that it will
be the best that he has experienced
here.
Coach came to us from Drake Uni-
versity three years ago where he made
three successive letters in football. Is
it anything but natural that a man of
that caliber should do anything other
than put out an undefeated team with
the bunch of fighting Bobcats he will
have next year!
The Normal has right to be doubly
proud of having “Bob” Shelton on its
coaching staff, not only because he has
the ability to stand up to the require-
ments of a coach and deliver the
“goods,” but because he is a “home-
grown-product”. Any man that can
make fifteen “T’s” as Bob has done is
good enough to coach any school’s
athletic teams. It goes without saying
that he demonstrated his ability as a
coach in putting out the Bobkitten
team that he did last year, that gave
the fight and the ability to win to the
first team that enabled them to win
the State Normal Championship, and
more than that, that was able to win
honors for itself in the games they
played for their own record and honor.
Though Coach Sheffield is not a foot-
ball man, he is the man who put Old
Normal in its place in baseball, and
not to mention his name here would be
an ^incomplete account of our coaching
staff indeed. Coach Sheffield has had
a wide experience of baseball, not only
as a college coach, but also as a pro-
fessional player. From the standpoint
