OPERA AT AUSTIN
(Continued from Page 2)
bcrs of the Liberty Chorus. All
members of the party were highly
pleased with the rendition. The
actors sang their parts with so much
expression that some of tne party
were almost made to believe that
the actions were true to life. All
were well pleased with Madam
Butterfly, played by Nohuka Hara,
who was especially well adapted to
the part. Pinkerton, taken by the
leading tenor, and Sharpless, taken
by the leading baritone, also deserve
to be mentioned as parts that were
well acted.
Of the 2 6 who went over for
Madam Butterfly, five remained for
the evening performance of Faust.
The characters in Faust were. all
well given, but the part of the Devil
was particularly appalling.
Everyone who attended the operas
enjoyed them immensely, and seemed
to feel amply repair for their going.
Among the members of the Liberty
Chorus who attended were: Misses
Birdwell, Frank Duke and Janie
Hightower, Wray, Berry, Sheehan _
Helen and Amy Thalman, Smith.
Jennie and Margarett Green, Smith.
Bishop, Lillian and Elizabeth
Andrews, Huxley and Finch; Messrs.
McDonald and Stroman. Others
who attended are: Mr. and Mrs.
Harrison, Mr. and Mrs. BirdweP,
Mr. and Mrs. Watkins, Mr*. Smith,
Mrs.- Strahn and Mrs. Garrett, Miss
Falls and Miss Butler.
Mr. Smith wants 20 or 30 cats im-
mediately for use in Biology 2 0 5.
He guarantees that none of the cats
will return. He says he can use wild
cats, tame cats or any kind except
BOBCATS.
BOBCATS WIN ARMISTICE GAME
(Continued from Page 1)
20-yard line and Cole recovered. The
Bobcats started a drive for their
fourth touchdown hut the Cubs
after they had made first down once.
Cubs punt out 15 yards. Bobcats
again made first down by means
of an 8-yard pass, Coers to
Storey. Another pass across the line
was tried, Cochran, Cub left guard,
intercepted and ran a 100 yards for
the Cubs’ second touchdown. Roger
Storey and Jesse both made desperate
efforts to prevent the second score
but were put out o! the race by the
two Cub ends who afforded interfer-
ence for their man. Cubs kicked
goal, Bobcats receive and Ramsay
end run. A series of line plays
brought the ball back to the Cub
goal line where Pete ploughed thru
for the final score of the game. Pete
kicked goal.
Cubs again receive; Pete kicked to
their 5-yard line from which they
made a poor return. Cubs made
first down on line plays and then
tried a pass; Charlie intercepted on
their 2 5-yard line. Bobcats tried a
pass; Academy defense interfered
with the receiver and the ball was
given to Normal where the interfer-
ence occurred. The ' game then
ended with the ball in Normal’s
possession 'inside the Cubs’ 10-yard
zone. Normal 26; Academy 13.
