Society Greetings.
The Literary Societies are pre-
paring for great reunions at the
Home Coming. What they will
have they do not authorize the
Star to publish, but there is
much in the air.
The Societies still play a big
part in Normal life, still giving
it the “spice,” which the initial
letter of the girls’ societies so
aptly spells out. We expect to
hear the old Chautauqua song of
self reliance, the Harris-Blair
yell of triumph as we have never
heard it before: and who can
imagine a limit to the good
times when Shakespeare, Pierian
Idyllic, Comen' ' and Everyday

HOME-COMING
Preparations Being Made to Give
Royal Welcome to Old Students
From San Marcos Leader.
The faculty and students of
the Southwest Texas Normal,
with the assistance of the peo-
ple of the city are planning for
a home coming of the alumni of
that institution, during the
commencement week.
This should be made, one of
the most important gatherings
and occasions that this city has
arranged in some ^tirne. From
an advertising and publicity
stand-point its value is incalcul-
able. It is expected that through
this means former students of
this school from every nook and
corner of Texas will be here, and
it is up to the people of this city
to give them a royal welcome,
one that will be remembered
favorably for years to come.
It has been suggested that on
one day during the commence-
ment week a big barbecue be
given at some convenient point
where all the people can come
together, and a tentative pro-
gram to that effect has already
been announced.
The Normal Star, the publicity
organ of the students and faculty
will next week issue a three
thousand edition devoted to this
special feature. This will be

The Normal means a great ck
to this city, and this home-con
ing of the old students shoul
be fully appreciated.
Thi3 occasion is also very op-
portune at this time from the
fact that it is the closing of the
work of Principal T. G. Hand
with this institution.
