GERMAN EVENING- Mon-
day, May 15th
Die “Germanistische Gesells-
chaft” is planning to vary the
usual program of German Even-
ing at Commencement this ses-
sion in a very pleasant and int-
eresting way. Not only will a
jhort play be produced and good
old German songs sung, but the
splendid refiectoscope recently
purchased by the school will be
used to display beautiful views
of German life, scenery, and
places of historical interest.
The region of Lake Lucerne in
Switzerland, made famous by
Schiller in his “Wilhelm Tell;”
the old university town of Heid-
elberg with its interesting stud-
ent life and far-famed castle;
the Rhine with its varied tradi-
tions; the picturesque old city of
Nuremberg, the home of Hans
Sachs and Albrecht Durer; and
some of the splendid public build-
ings and other interesting sights
of Munich, Hamburg, Dresden,
Leipzig, and Berlin will all be
shown in a way that will give all
students a better understanding
and deeper appreciation of Ger-
many and Germans.
A cordial welcome will be ex-
tended to all former students of
German and seats will be reserv-
ed for them with the present
members of the “Germanistische
Gesellschaft ”
