Sour
Stomach
No appetite, loss of strength, nervous-
ness, headache, constipation, bad breath,
general debility, sour rjsings, and catarrh
of the stomach are all due to indigestion.
Kodol cures Indigestion. This new discov-
ery represents the natural juices of diges-
tion as they exist in a healthy stomach,
combined with the greatest known tonic
arid reconstructive properties. Kodol Dys-
pepsia Cure does not only cure indigestion
and dyspepsia, but this famous remedy
cures all stomach troubles by cleansing,
purifying, sweetening and strengthening
the mucous membranes lining the stomach.
Mr. S. S. Ball, of Ravenswood, W. Va., says:—
“ I was troubled with sour stomach for twenty years,
Kodol cured me and we are now using it in milk
for baby,”

Politics—state and county—pro-
mises to open up good and strong
along about New Year; primary
elections in July being responsible
for this earlier political excitement.
Of the 2000 shares of the West
Texas (state) Bank at San Antonio,
G. Bedell Moore holds 1583. He
is the millionaire who owns the ex-
tensive irrigating plant at Del Rio
the Moore Block in San Antonio,
etc, etc. and so forth.
For many moons past, the Hays
County Times has been prodding
around to find a citizen iike uDto G.
W. Brackenridge of San Antonio, or
J. T. Brackenridge of Austin; but,
so far, we have nothing to “give
out.” Possibly some fellows in our
town have their gaps or the ground,
and this mhy put them wise.
“He belongs to our church,” will
do as an introductiorr but is a guar-
antee of nothing; as it is the man
that makes. the church not the
church that makes the man. Never
the less, let not this deter you from
going to church and Sunday School
next Sunday—besides you will have
the satisfaction of knowing there is
one good man in the church.
Next to the opening of the public
school, the most interesting event in
San Marcos this week was the com-
mencement of the third term of the
Soutli-West Texas Normal last
Wednesday morning. A large con
ce se of cpcctators crowded the
building, while the enrollment of
students for the 1905-1906 term is
away beyond expectation.
The Houston Chronicle aod the
San Antonio Gazette, the two un-
surpassed evening papers of Texas,
are being sued for libel by ex-alder-
man Maddox, of Austin. The pa-
pers will reap a rich harvest of sub-
scribers, anyway.

so long as criminal assaults are
made on defenceless women just so
long will mob law be resorted to-

most forcibly in the idea that there

RIVERHEAD FARM,
The hot summer is on the wane—
during which we have always felt
•the necessity of it! The fail is here
—when we should consider it! The
winter will soon be here—w7hen we
should be hard at work on it! Let
one of tbe attractions at San Marcos
in 1906 be a beautiful and adequate
public park.
g^San Marcos is to have a state
bank, another laundry, an electric
road, a new I & G N depot; and a
whole lot of lesser necessities on the
side; but what we need worst of all
are more industrial and manufactur-
ing enterprises. And tie who aids
in this, or rather, brings it about, is
tbe man we are looking for in San
Marcos right at this particular pe-
riod.

William Green,
SAN MARCOS, TEXAS.
I have i*1 my herd of Registered
Berkshires Hogs, representatives
of the most fashionable strains;
blood sought alike by breeders
and feeders. Texas is a great
Hog growing state; none, other
equals it in natural advantages
and but few^states equal its market facilities. There is money
and lots of it in growVmg hogs. A few can be grown on any
farm—without cost, simply using that^which would otherwise
go to waste. It pays to raise them; it pays to raise the right
kind. I can offer you young boars to head your herd, or
young boars to sows not akin for foundation of your start.
My hogs are bred and developed on eorrect principles. All
arc guaranteed breeders, and immune from Hog cholera for one
year. Correspondence solicited, and invitation to visit the herd
extended to all interested.

In anticipation of furthering home
industry, and, incidentallo, lining
the individual pocket book, we in-
terviewed some of our people in the
interest of Holland’s Magazine, cou-
sibering the merit of this deserving
periodical. It is surely wonderful
the number of fellow citizens who
will not balk a second at the expense
of a keg of beer, a box of cigars, a
gun club, or some other extra: but,
presto! almost fall dead at the mere
idea of tab mg “another magazine !”
And who ever beard of a woman
who had too much literature, of the
Holland’s Magazine kind, to read?
“Otherwise,” we heartily thank the
