St. M. U. Orchestra
Plays Twice
Trio Broadcasts
The St. Mary’s University Or-
chestra, under the direction of
Brother Albert Hagemann, made
two rather unusual public appear-
ances on the afternoon of Sunday,
April 6. The occasion of their
playing was the opening of two
“Model Homes” in the Olmos
Park Addition, one on Olmos Drive
and the other on Morning-side
Drive. Mrs. Alex Adams, Pres-
ident of the City Federation of
Women’s Clubs and hostess at the
opening of the homes, had asked
the Orchestra to furnish musical
entertainment at the two res-
idences.
Both programs were well receiv-
ed and members of the Orchestra
were generously complimented up-
on their excellent playing and their
genuine spirit of corporation.
The University Trio, consisting
of Mr. Pedro Rodriguez, violinist,
Brother Hagemann, cellist, and
Professor Leslie Roch, Pianist,
likewise appeared in a program on
April 6. The Trio played under
the auspices of the Catholic Mis-
sion Crusade which broadcasts a
program every Sunday evening at
6:30 from Station KTSA.
Fair Co-ed to Bill Clark—Your
dancing makes talking a pleasure.
Bill—Oh don’t mind that. I al-
ways try to be accomodating.
Moss Askey, late of Hollywood,
has announced the theme song of
his next picture, “Put the Finger
on Him.” The song is “I Owe Ev-
erybody I know.”
Cop—Say, young lady, do you
know anything about .traffic laws?
Sweet Young Thing—What is it
you wish to know?
Marlowe—What keeps us from
falling off the earth when it is up-
side down?
Physics Prof—The law of grav-
ity*
Marlowe—Well, how did people
stick on before the law was pass-
ed?
