Pare 4. The Bie Lake (Tevasl Wildcat. Thursday, May 17. 1973
We went to Garden City Tuesday night for graduation ex-
ercises of the Class of 1973 and heard niece Jeanie Werst de-
liver her valedictorian address.
The entire program was built around and given by the senior
class, except for a trio singing, it was enjoyable to see those
students preform, get more experience before the public as
they leave parental and teacher guidance for the broader field
of college participation.
Let's hope our valedictorian and salutorian may be recogniz-
ed for their high school grade average at least two weeks earl-
ier than in previous years. In this way we can give them more
recognition in West Texas, helping them better in numerous
ways.

It will be sensible to remain alert to possible danger of wild
animals, and unfamiliar dogs and cats. Totally unrelated in-
cidents keep cropping up, and every precaution is still being
taken. Early last week Lewis Knight's dog treed a ring tailed
coon in the early morning hours. It could have been fleeing
from danger as it's presence in town is unusual. The head was
sent in and James Barnes got a negative report last Friday from
Austin.
An unusual sport I'm halfway curious about entering into is
coyote hunting. The Bill Rowlands came in one evening at
Jesse’s telling us about it. Bill has been several times, and
Mrs. Bill one time. She said she was intimidated by the
presence of several running pellmell in their direction, an-
swering the mating call of the whistles used. They went with
Allen Amistad, government trapper who has been kept busy.
We haven't been able to meet or talk with Amistad, however
we want to learn more, partake before the year is over.
From different ranchers reports, there's an abundance of
wildlife now, apparently an abundance of predators also.
If one is trying to get a pet project worked on this week and
next, be careful whom one approaches for help.
Thursday night is the Band Spring Concert at high school,
friday night RCHS juniors and others are working on decora-
tions for the Jr - Sr prom, and Saturday night the big event
takes place.
The Little League Barbecue is also Saturday, starting at six
o’clock. There’ll be many there early as in the past more
tickets have been sold titan could be fed. Backers say this
won't happen this year, however that's a promise hard to ful-
fill. Lotsa people are ready to help Little League by buying
tickets thinking perhaps they can't come. Then suddenly
they remember its mealtime and show up when events
change. It’s another way to visit away from TV.,
