Reagan County Lions Club will hold its Annual
Broom Sale April 26, E. O. (Dusty) Nevills, committee
chairman, has announced. The headquarters will be
in the new fire station if it is finished. If the new sta-
tion is not finished, it will be in the old fire station.
Everyone is urged to keep the date in mind.

Mrs. Loretta Avery,
president of Reagan
County Little League, has
announced that an or-
ganizational meeting for
this year's season will
be held at 7:00 p.m. April
19 in the Elementary
School auditorium.
She urges all parents,
coaches, officials, and

tend and help make plans
for this year's Little
League season.

The Texas Congress-
man, who recently intro-
duced his Domestic Oil
Production Policy Act,
said the OPEC action |
"clearly points out the
need for America to de-
crease the amount of oil
we import, and the only
way we're going to do
that is to increase do-{
mestic production.
"There is no way we
will see significant in-
creases in domestic pro-
duction until sufficient
incentives tor exploration
are allowed through de-

"I call on all my col-
leagues in Congress to
join me in supporting my
domestic crude oil decon-
trol bill so that this coun-
try can decrease its de-
pendency on costly, stra-
tegically vulnerable and
economically debilitating
crude oil imports," Loef-
fler said. He also pointed
to decrease imports as a
way. to "strengthen the
dollar abroad, decrease
balance of payments de-
ficits, and generally im-
prove our international
monetary status."
Loeffler also said his
decontrol bill would "pro-
vide the greatest availa-
bility of gasoline, heating
oil and other refined pe-
troleum products for A-
merican consumers at the
lowest possible price."

About People You Know
Bryan Hallmark, 2 year old son of Mr. and Mrs.
Larry Hallmark of Big Lake, entered Santa Rosa
Hospital in San Antonio Wednesday to undergo sur-
gery to have a tube inserted down his throat so treat-
ment may be started on his esophagus, as a result of
damages done when he swallowed some liquid
Draino. His parents will be with him in San Antonio.
Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Hayes were
Mrs.%Hayes sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs.
James Brodnax from Kingsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Boots Lynch have announced the ap-
proaching marriage of their daughter, Miss Cydney
Corinne Lynch, to Kendall Kurtis Watkins, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Richard Conaway.
An April 15 ceremony will be performed at 3:00
p.m. in the Assembly of God Church in Big Lake.
Miss Lynch is a 1977 graduate of Reagan County
High School and Kendall Watkins is a 1978 graduate
of RCHS in Big Lake.
They will make their home in Big Lake.
George Baley, former pastor of the Big Lake As-
sembly of God Church is in M. D. Anderson Hospital
in Houston. Doctors there discovered that he has
cancer of the bone and Baley was in surgery for eight
hours on Tuesday of this week. A trust fund has been
established in his behalf at Reagan State Bank and
anyone wishing to help defray medical expenses may
do so by contacting bank personell. Baley's address
in Houston is: George Baley, Room L-341, M. D. An-
derson Hospital, Houston, Texas. Those writing to
Baley should note the correct spelling of his last name
as there is another patient at M. D. Anderson with the
same last name but a different spelling.
Chili Holt is a burn patient in Reagan Memorial
Hospital following an accident at his home. Holt was
priming a vehicle to get it started when the vehicle
backfired. Holt spilled gasoline on himself and it
caught fire. He ran into his backyard and put the fire
out himself with a dog watering pan. Holt suffered
the worst burns on his left arm from his elbow to his
hand with the worst part on his left palm. He also was
burned on both arms, chest, and his leg.

Mrs. Jerry (Sue) Ilenington is a patient in Shannon
Hospital in San Angelo this week where she under-
went surgery Tuesday. She was reported doing fine
and will undergo further surgery Friday. Friends may
contact or write her at Room 210, Shannon Hospital,
San Angelo, Texas 76901. She is expected to be there
approximately 14 days.
