Houston.—Allen N. Crownover of
1702 Triangle, Alice, Texas, Dis-
trict Superintendent at Alice for
the Humble Pipe Line Company,
was recently honored upon com-
pletion of 40 years of service with
the company.
Mr. Crownover was honored at
a dinner in Alice commemorating
his four decades of service with
the company. He was presented a
forty-year service award by P. H.
Hunter, President of Humble Pipe
Line Company, of Houston, and
complimented for his many years
of loyal and valuable service. At-
tending the dinner were members
of his family and associates from
the Alice, Corpus Christi and
Houston offices.
A native of Cross Plains, Texas,
Mr. Crownover first joined the
company in 1920 as a roustabout

broken service he rejoined the
company as a mechanic at Cisco
in 1927. He worked in the Cisco
area as a mechanic, truck driver,
field gauger and district gauger
for a number of years and in
1954 was promoted to district sta-
tion supervisor in Cisco.
In 1957, he was named assistant
district superintendent of the
Alice District and in 1958 became
superintendent at Alice, his pres-
ent assignment.
Long active in industry, civic,
and community affairs, he holds
membership in the South Texas
Chamber of Commerce, the Fir-
ing Line Club of Texas Manufac-
turer’s Association, and The First
Baptist Church of Alice where he
is Chairman of the Board of Dea-
cons.
He is married to the former
Allyne Osborne of Abilene, Texas.
They have two children: Mrs.
Wendell Dorsett of Albany, Geor-
gia and A. N. Crownover, Jr. of
Pleasanton, who is a petroleum en-
gineer with Humble Oil & Refin-
ing Company.
Crafts Booth
Remodeling
Set for Fair
Refugio.—Mrs. Ray Jones, sup-
erintendent of the Crafts Booth for
the Refugio County Fair, is being
assisted this year by Mrs. S. O.
Stubblefield and Mrs. Wallace
Shay. Plans are underway to im-
prove the booth so that it will
accommodate more entires. The
booth will be in the same location,
on the west end of the exhibition
hall.
Adults, boys and girls under 18
are eligible to enter articles in
the crafts booth.
Rules are:
1. All entries in the show must
be made by the person whose
name they are entered.
2. Articles, previously exhibited
in the fair, may be exhibited
again, but will not be judged in
competition.
3. Novel cars will be limited to
4 per person.
4. All entries should be made by
10 o’clock October 8, and will be
expected to remain on display un-
til 8 p.rn. October 10, 1964.
Make plans to exhibit something
in the crafts booth during the
Fair, the superintendent said.

are Junior Chamber of Commer-
ce, J. T. Cash Humble Station,
Vance Claybrook Humble Station,
and B Hobby Shop, Refugio.

amic Show during the County
Fair. Mrs. W. N. Hill, Mrs. Mar-

have made ceramics to enter them
for display during the County
Fair.

1. All articles entered must be
the work of the exhibitor, and
all imported or commercial ar-
ticles are strictly prohibited from
competition.
2. Articles may be entered as
early as October 7, and all ex-
hibits must remain until 8 p.m.
October 10.
3. All exhibitors under 18 years
will show in the Junior Division.

Certificate as defined in this or-
dinance.
Section 3. For the purpose of
this ordinance “food establish-
ment” is defined to be any hotel
or motel dining room, cafe, res-
taurant, grocery store, fruit stand,
drug store, soda fountain, bakery,
meat market, or any other estab-
lishment selling or serving or ex-
posing for sale any food and/or
drink products intended for human
consumption.
Section 4. Any person who is
required to have a Health Cer-
tificate under this ordinance will
•make application to the City Heal-
th Officer. When an application
is made for a Health Certificate
the City Health Officer shall di-
rect the applicant to obtain a Sero-
logical Test for Syphilis and an
X-ray of the Chest, which studies
must be repeated at least once
yearly. The Serological Test for
Syphilis must be performed and
reported by any laboratory ap-
proved by the City Health Officer
X-ray of the Chest may be ob-
tained from any hospital, private
physician or other source approv-
ed by the City Health Officer. The
hospital, private physician or oth
er source shall agree to hold such
X-ray available for examination
by the City Health Officer for at
least six months after the date
the Health Certificate is issued
In Lieu of an immediate Chest
X-ray, a report from a source
approved by the City Health Of-
ficer of a Chest X-ray made
within the four months preceding
application shall be accepted.
Section 5. When reports of the
City Health Officer of the blood
sereology and X-ray of the chest
reveal no evidence of communic-
able disease, the City Health Of
ficer may issue a Health Certifi-
cate, which certificate shall ex-
pire 12 months from date of is-
suance.
Either the face of t h e Health
Certificate Card or the reverse
side thereof shall describe the col-
or of the eyes and hair, height,
weight, race and sex and age of
the licensee.
Section 6. It shall be the duty
of the City Health Officer to pro-
vide for the keeping of a per-
manent record, together with the
date of issuance, of all “Health
Certificates” issued to persons
under provisions of this ordinance
Section 7. If any provision of
this ordinance or the application
thereof to any person or circum-
stance is held invalid, such in-
validity shall not affect the pro-
visions or application of the or-
dinance which can be given effect
without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end the
provisions of this ordinance are
declared to be severable.
Section 8. Any person violating
any of the provisions of this or-
dinance shall be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor and upon convic-
tion thereof shall be fined in any
sum not to exceed One Hundred
Dollars ($100.00).

A RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of
August, 1964, Divine Providence
called to his reward our friend
and colleague, Willard King, and
WHEREAS, he had served the
Refugio County Industrial Foun-
dation since its organization in
1960 as president, and
WHEREAS, it was largely
through his efforts that the Refu-
gio County Industrial Foundation
has always enjoyed an excellent
and sound relationship in all areas
of the county for the development
of its resources potentials, and
WHEREAS, his unexhausted
drive and knowledge of the peo-
ple’s needs have contributed
greatly to better living conditions
in Refugio County, and
WHEREAS, he gave freely of
his time and himself to the serv-
ice of his fellowman in the City
of Refugio, Refugio County, the
State of Texas, and the United
States of America, and
WHEREAS, he was a man of
strong convictions and integrity,
who loved and served his com-
munity, his church and his fam-
ily, now therefore,
'BE IT RESOLVED that the Re-
fugio County Industrial Founda-
tion of Refugio County, Texas,
hereby declares its deep sense of
loss, and acknowledge w^th grati-
tude the many years of devoted
service given by Willard King to
the Industrial Foundation, and ex-
press to the wife and family of
Willard King, the deepest sym-
pathy at our loss, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,
that a copy of this resolution be
sent to Mrs. Willard King of Re-
fugio.
