“Police blotter" is a summary of the previous week's activity J>y the Port
Aransas Police Dept. For practical reasons of lime and space, the "blotter"
does not include every call made to police of f icers, nor does n include routine
security checks, minor traffic stops or accidents. Incidents of major impact
will be reported separately Because the police department's day runs from
8 am until 7:59 a.m. the next day, the dates on reports are not always correct.
Monday, Aug. 25
• Emergency Medical Services personnel responded at 9:01 a m to the
300 block of Cotter Street in reference to an eldeily woman who had fallen.
She was put back into bed and no transport was needed
• All units responded at 5 33 a.m to Island Moorings in reference to an
intrusion alarm It was a false alarm But a constable's deputy saw a boat that

These people knew how to combine cooling off with celebrating
the Labor Day weekend in Port Aransas. They put their lawn
chairs in the water, soaked up sun and just relaxed - all great

“CG Signals." is a summary of the previous week’s search and
rescue missions conducted by the United Slates Coast Guard
V ^ Station Port Aransas.
Saturday, Aug. 30
• A call was received from those aboard a 21 -foot vessel that was disabled
offshore. A good Samaritan towed the vessel to the city docks. T ime spent
on the incident: I hour.
• A 34-foot pleasure craft was run aground in the ship channel. A good
Samaritan helped pull the boat back into the channel. Time spent on the
incident l .l hours.
• A 24-loot pleasure craft 20 miles offshore was disabled and taking on
water The Coast Guard launched the 41-footer. The vessel in distress was
i located and lowed back tothecity docks. Time spent on the incident 5 hours
Sunday, Aug. 31
• The Coast Guard’s 41 -footer was launched to tow a 20-foot motor vessel
that was disabled offshore. The vessel was towed to the city docks Time
spent on the incident I 2 hours
• An 18 foot pleasure craft was aground at San Jose Island, where it stayed
overnight It was afloat the next morning Tune spent on the incident: 13
hours
