Care and Share Christmas Drive
to help island needy starts Friday
The annual Care and Share Christmas Drive
sponsored by the Port Aransas Lions Club,
VFW Post 8967 and (he American Legion
begins tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 28
The goal is to provide every needy family in
Port Aransas with a Christmas care package
that includes the ingredients for a Christmas
Gordon Irwin.
Starting tomorrow and continuing every
Friday and Saturday through Dec. 1.3, mem-
bers of the three organizations will collect
donations at the Family Center IGA from 9
a.m. to 4 p.m. An unmanned box will be
available inside the IGA al all limes during the
"drive.
Needed are non perishable lood items and
new toys If toys are w rapped — and wrapping
is appreciated — they should be marked as to
the appropriate age and gender
Cash donations are also being accepted and
can he mailed in care of Burke Cox. P O Box

ables that arc added to the boxes, or to fill out
where donations come up short.
On the weekend of Dec. 20, the three groups
will gatherMo make up the boxes which will
include a turkey or ham, depending upon the
size of the family: rton-perishable goods, fresh
fruit, a Tittle something sweet, and the toys.
The boxes w ill be delivered Dec. 22 and 23.
Namesof needy families are being accepted.

the family, and the number, ages and genders

between private enterprise and the water dis-
trict in September when the Port Aransas City

lo use effluent for a public golf course. No
written or formal agreement has ever existed
between the city and the water district regard-
ing the effluent; rather it has been an under-
standing between the two entities that the
el (lurin' was available to the city
(Eltluent is treated waste water which is not
drinkable.)
