Johnson and Ashley Sinks,
both new members. High-step-
pers of the week for the last
game of the 2000-01 football
season were the Senior mem-
bers which include (front row,

After gaining at least 50
Accelerated Reader points since the
beginning of the school year, 27
Bray Elementary students were
recently recognized for their reading
achievement.
This year, Bray’s school-wide
reading theme is “Book a Trip
Around the World.” As the students
read and gain points, they get to
“travel” from continenWo continent.
In Bray’s AR reading recogni-
tion ceremony, the students “trav-
eled” to Africa and learned about
the world’s second largest conti-
nent.
While “in Africa,” they also had
their passports stamped, received
“Bray diamonds,” and enjoyed
refreshments.
Students honored in the ceremo-
ny were: Nelson Adams, Sarah
Agee, Ben Allen, Kevin Barnett, J.
D. Bates, Joseph Caguioa, Brooke
Carter, Valeria De Fex, Karmen
Gillingham, Olivia Goodrich,
William Harrison, Zachary Jones,

Yearbook still on sale
The 2001 edition of the Longhorn
Yearbook is still on sale. The book
can be purchased either by mail or
for the first time this year, on-line.
Price for the yearbook is $40 with
name stamping, plastic covers, CD of
the year, autograph pages and icons
also on sale.
Every student at Cedar Hill High
School should have received at least
one letter and brochure from Jostens
as of this date. The letter has a mail
order form on it and also contains a
customer order number to use on-line
with the Josten’s website. If for some
reason you have not received a letter,
you may obtain one with an order
number from room 203 at the high
school, or contact Linda Martin at
harvey@chisd.com.

Local author holds book
signing at Barnes & Noble
Class visits Texas A&M
Local author Alan C. Elliott will
visit the Barnes & Noble Bookstore
at 362 East FM 1382 Saturday,
Dec. 9, at I p.m. He will be on
hand to discus's and autograph
“Getting Started in Internet Auc-
tions” and “A Daily Dose of the
American Dream.”
Elliott is a computer consultant,
instructor, author and businessman.
He has written over a dozen books
ranging from introductory comput-
ing to business success strategies
and has taught computer applica-
tion courses si nee 1981.
A successful internet entrepre-
neur, Elliott has sold over one mil-
lion dollars worth of merchandise
in e-commerce. He has also devel-
oped an internet auction reference
and resource site that can be
reached as a link from www.alanel-
liott.com.
All events are free and open to
the public.
CHHS art instructors Donna
Barnard and Barbara Lee accompa-
nied a group of art students to visit,
the Texas A&M Commerce campus
for Art Day, Nov. 18.

Singh, Elizabeth Elsberg, Mary Ann
Cox. Jennifer, Emily and Leslie en-
joyed a day of hands on instruction
with Texas A&M art instructors^
Workshops ranged from airbrush-
ing to throwing pottery on the wheel
to computer media.
