Joan Holt reports that the two
brown thrashers in her yard have
been joined by three catbirds, so the
mockingbird is having trouble and
not winning the battle. Holt also noted
an orange crowned warbler at hum
tiling bird feeder taking nectar She
says she still has one hummer, though
the migration is about over. There still
seems to be a lot of other birds, includ-
ing a female redstart and two C 'ouch’s
kingbirds, which is pretty unusual
A long-eared owl resting at Bubha
Jensen’s became the third documented
sighting ever in the Coastal Bend. It is
a more northern forested bird. Joe
Blankenship recorded the sighting on
video.
A lot of Lincoln sparrows have
also been sighted.
