HONORED
Mr. and Mrs. Joe P. Simcik of Taylor
celebrated their 50th wedding ahni-
versary recently in the SPJST Halí
(Lodge 29) near Taylor. A large liost
of relatives and friends attended a re-
oeption given in their honor by their
soiis and daughters.
Brother Simcik was awarded a 50-
year SPJST membership pin. They are
both members of Lodge Praha No. 29,
Taylor. Their children, who were hosts
for the recption, included: Mr. and
Mrs. Chester Simcik of Denver, Colo.;
Mr. and. Mrs. Milton Kerlin of Grang-
er; Mr. and Mrs. EIdmund Simcik of
Béer Park; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Jan sen of
Taylor; Mr. and Mrs. Joe A. Simcik of
Taylor; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Volek of
Pflugeryille,; and Albert Simcik of
Granger.
The honorees were married in the
Granger Brethren Church on Sept. 18,

SUSAN II SE, FOREIGN EXCHANGE
STUDENT IN AUSTRALIA
Susan lise, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. J. D. Use of El Campo, left by
plane Sept. 22nd for Australia where
she will spend a year as guest of Miss
Leal Raeburn Brown, last year’s for-
eign exchange student from El Campo.
Susan will be remembered as State
Queen in 1956-66. She is a member of
Lodge No. 30, Taiton, and a graduate of
El Campo High School, class of 1967.
She is also a member of St, John’s
VĚSTNÍK
Catholic Church in Taiton, member oř
the National íionor Society, swimming
instructor, member of the Internation-
al Club, Chairman of the CYO Deanery
Spirituál Committee, member of the
Future Teachers Club, and the Indus-
trial Arts Club.
When she r.cturns to the U.S. in the
spring of next year she plans to en-
roll in Baylor University in Waco for
the summer semester. (She was also
District Six Queen in 1956-66). (Picture

ing in East Bernard on that Sunday.

JLODGE NO, 81, NEEDVILLE
Dear Brothers and Síslers:
On Sunday, Oct. 22, our lodge will
host the District Five fall meeting, at
the Veterans’ Memoriál Halí in Need-
ville. The halí is adjacent to the SPJST
halí, on the highway coming through
town.
Registration will begin at 10 a.m.,
and dinner will be served at 11 a.m,
Barbecue chicken and sausage with
Wednesday, Oetober 11, 1967
all the trímmings will be on the menu
at $1.25 per plate for adults and 75
cents for children. Pastries and drinks
will be available throughoat that day.
The business meeting will convene
promptly at 1:30 p.m. This is an
important meeting in that we must
eLect a district director of the SPJST
Rest Home, district youth director, and
other important matters are on the
agenda. A youth program will follow,
and instead of individua! numbers, the
district youth director, Sister Tillie
Helmcamp, plans to present a play
with the youth of this district in the
cast.
We extend a cordial invitation to all
officers of the Supreme Lodge, Editor
Bro. Nick Morris, and their families,
and members from the other distriets.
We especially urge all lodges in District
Five to be represented. The public is
also invited.
Plcase notě that a change was made
since there will be no business meeting
in the morning. However, those of you
who wi.sh to eat at noon, please come
as early as possiblc so you can be serv-
ed in time.
A smáli orchestra, will furnish enter-
tainment during the dinner and after
the meeting adjoums. Serving of sup-
per starts at 5 p.m.

the District Five meeting in Needville,
Sunday, Oct. 22.

DISTRICT V FALL MEETING
Dear Members:
The District Five fall meeting will
be held Sunday, Oct. 22nd, in the
Needville Memoriál Halí in Needville.
Host lodge is Needville Lodge No. 81.
T "i>e 81 has a well-planned program
our district meeting. Tire business
meeting starts at 1:30 p.m., but regis-
tration starts at 11 a.m. After regis-
tration we, will serve a delicious barbe-
cue dinner with all the trímmings, so
come early and be with us for the
noon meal. There will be entertain-
ment in the morning and after the
meeting. All members of District V
are requested to make every effort to
be present at the meeting. All mem-
bers of the SPJST, officers of the Su-
preme Lodge and their families, our
Editor, Brother Nick Morris and his
family, are all invited, as are members
from the other distriets.
