Reports From Local
Lodges
LODGE 130, DALLAS, TEXAS
Bear Sisters and Brothers:
It is with pleasure and gratification
to aimoun.ce that the two celebrations;
the “Dedication of the SPJST Rest Home
in Taylor, Texas, and the “Fareweir
celebration of Sokol Zizka in Dallas,
in the old historie. Sokol Halí on Carl
Street were both a great suecess.
In špite of the severe weather, both in
Taylor and Dallas, last Sunday, April 27,
the sisters and brothers of our brother-
hood flocked to both plaees to help raise
funds and put these two projects over
the hump.
! Since the sisters and brothers of our
SPJST menibership that went to the
Taylor celebration didiťt get to cele-
brate in their own horné town, our Lodge
Jaro 130, who is ais o moving from the
Caři Street Sokol Halí will háve its own
“Farewell” celebration on Mother’s
Day, Sunday May 11 tli. and we are here-
by extending you all a hearty invitation
to come and help us in our celebration
on that Sunday.
We will háve a good dinner and pro-
gram, supervised by sisters Valcik and
Hattie Sebetka, and you good sisters,
don’fc forget to put on your pretty aprons
and bake us some-of those “sweets” that
you are all so famous for — for this
celebration dinner.
Until we all meet on Mother’s Day, I
am
■■ Fraternally yours,
HUGO SCHEFCAK.

LODGE POKROK NO. 88
ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS SPJST:
Hurray! Hurray! Iťs almost here —
“Bouchačka’’ is now being counted down
to the magie number of 18. The 18th of
May (S-imady) is the launching dáte of
the most confused, hiliarious, 3 act
Czech comedy play ever presented by
the renown dramatic club of Lodge No.
88. Starting at 3:30 p .m. on Sunday,
May 18th the Pokrok Lodge No. 88,
Houston, Texas is again bringing you a
Wedhesday, May 7, 195*$
Czech play that will be tnarked as ohe
of the top plays in many a year. Iťs a
play that should bring memories to the
ones who háve been married for 'many
years (maybe), and at the same time
give wise counsel to the young who are
planning marriage in the future. . , .
Iťs sort of a mixed up, affair, where
a uncle who is already married, gets in-
to another unintentional marriage
through the plans of his shrewd
nephew, and then wonders in
iear how he is going to get out of the
situation. . . Iťs going to be good . . ,
iťs going to be funny — confusing and
will make everyone go home to check
up on his or her marriage sertificate.
Some of the actors in this play called,
“Bouchačka” will be Mrs. Mary John-
son who will give us that extra bit of
acting. . . Mrs. F. Walla, a performer,
classed as an all stár — Miss Naomi
Kostom, the versatile player with her
forever eharming personality — Mrs. F.
Olexa, always tops in any part played
— Wilhelmina Šimeček', the veterán
pro of countless plays. — R. Sefcik, J.
Brmis, always giving a good perform-
ance —■ A. Kadlecek, E. Zahn, and E.
Vala, who always gives us that some-
thing extra in all the plays — Don’t
forget “Bouchačka”, to be given on Sun-
day, May 18th, at Lodge Pokrok No, 88,
located at 1140 Robbie Street, Houston,
Texas. — Starting time — 3:30 p. m. —
come all and see the classic play of the
year. Remember, coming together is a
beginning, keeping together is progress,
and working together is succes.
