'this year, and to specially congratulate
Sister. Arnold Franěk who as a new-
eomer to our district had 13 new certifi-
cates issued in the month of June alone.
Let us now consider the accomplish-
ments of tfhree ether torothers in the
matter of the marvelous work they are
doting to benefit our Order.
With reference to my predecessor dis-
trict organizer, Brother J. M. Skrabanek,
I ,do not consider myself adequate to the
task of commenting on his accomplish-
ments. I feel tihat the report of our Or-
der’s chitíjf organizing official in the
Swn© 14to edition of the Ve-stnik best
covers Brother Skrabanek’s achieve-
ments. On page 14 of that edition, Broth-
er Joe B. Hejny informed us all that
Brother Skrabanek wrote the largest
amount ever written in one application,
ithat he wrote the greatest amount of
coverage ever written in o,ne month, and
that he placed in force the greatest
amount of coverage ever written to the
tkne of the year wiben that report was
written. I sincerely commend Brother
Hejny for so adequately reporting this
ifine joto to you, and I hope that you re-
view it as a salute to Brother Skrabanek.
Our Brothers A M. Vrla and John R.
Krizan are in District 3. Brother Krizan’s
treinendous aehieveme,nt of wríting 71
applications for membershdp in one
month is go, remarkable that I am sure
every organizer in District Five joins in
this salute to him. AU 'further and co,n-
tinuing success of this nátuře by Brother
Krizan and all other organizers will as-
suredly benefit our Order from the
standpoint of the ,nee!d felt by any fi-
nancial institution to broaden its in-
come base in order to more adequately
cope with inflatio.nery trends in the ex-
penses of operations. Brother Vrla is to
he particularly complimented not only
on Brother Krizáiťs splendid work. but
also on the results of preparátory work
to wíhich he has so devoted himself in
lorder to help* and encourage such fine
workers.
Please accept this expression of appre-
ciation for the opportunity to work to.
íour common goals with such devoted
brother a,nd sister members.
Fraternally yours,
Jaijda Cerny

LODGE 47, SEATON, TEXAS
Dear Members and Friends:
The last regular meeting was held on
July 2nd; the attendance was a little
better than usual. Minutes of the prev-
ious meeting we-re approved as read,
Rou-tine business matters received prop-
er attention. Monthly reports were re-
ceivqd from the treasurer, and also re-
ports were received from the auditing
committee.
Results from the straw-voting was 73
to ř.rodernize and 50 to repair. After con-
siderable discussion it was decided to get
an estimate on wíhat it would cost to re-
Jpair the present building. The building
committee met again on the 12th of July.
Albert Vincent, infant son of Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Hejl was admitted as a new
member. Our congratulations to Brother
and Sister Hejl on their first son, to the
best o!f my knowledge they ' lhave four
idaughters to greet him.
At the time of our last meeting we
were fortunate not to háve any members
on the sick list this month.
I don’t know whose fault it was, the
Editoťs or mine, but an error was made
in my last letter, tíhe name Zabcik was
omitted. It should háve stated Betty
Jean Zabcik as a. runner - up at the
Coronation of the Queen. We all make
mistakes and it was ,not doně intention-
ally. I hope Betty Jean will forgive us.
The annual Bell County Farm Bureau
Barbecue and Queen Contest will he
held at our Lodge Halí on July 20. Hope
the weather will be favorable, because we
are expecting a huge crowd, the men-
folks will barbecue 1400 lbs of beef.
On June 23rd a Wedding Reception
was held at our Lodge Halí for Mr. James
Pechal and Miss Nancy Ježek. He is the
son o’f Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pechal. Con-
gratulations and best of luck to the new-
lyweds.
We urge all members to come to the
next meeting on August 6th at 2 p.m.
Plans will be made for the annual pic-
rric to be held at our lodge halí on Sept.
3rd.
Fraternally,
Theresa Chlápek
