SOKOL, FORT WORTH
Dear Members and Friends,
For the last month, the; activity at
Sokol Halí has been very sparse. All the
members that were at the American
Sokol Slet in Chicago háve now return-
,ed, and perhaps the activity will résumé
-again soon.
Several of the Junior Girls, after be-
ing home only one day, presented “Con-
queors of the Ages,” (modem Roman in-
terpretive dance) during intermission
at the Symphony Star-L-ite Operetta in
Dallas, Texas, on July 18, 1961.
No doubt, the four Junior Sokols that
atten(ded the Sokol Courses at Potter’s
Lake, Wiscoinsin, háve returned with
great enthusiasm to strive for physieal
improvement, pass along new ideas and
tetíhniques learned and encourage each

boy and girl to become better members.
Our next Sokol meeting is scheduled
for Wednesday, July 26, 1961 at 7 p.m.
Everyone is to bring a covered dish, and
tve will háve our evéning dinner togeth-
er.
In closing, I wish to comment that I
was over-whelmed by the number of peo-
ple that took time to call me on the
phone to express their appreciation and
enjoyment of my last article on “Tne
American Sokol Slet in Chicago.” Many
others, whom I met, also- spoke well of
my article. I wish to thank all these nice
friends again.
Nazdar!
Fraternally yours,
Mrs. Lydia (Tirk) Alholm

SPJST' LODGE NO, 84 SOFTBALL TEAM
Dallas, Texas
Dear Brothers and Sisters;
Monday night, July 17, we broke our
three-game losing streak by defeating
Otis Engineering by a score of 11-0.
Frank Mach II, pitched a very good game
alloiwing only two 1 its, walked one and
straek out five batters.
Wilbur Munger caught a very good
game. The boys all played well as no
errors were committeed.
What was most encouraging was the
fact we started hitting the balí again.
Albín (Bino) Vrana was the leading
slugger with a homerun and a walk. Alex
Parma and Paul Valenta each had two
!hits; Raymond Smith one hit; Frank
Mach III, one hit; Wilbur Munger one
hit and a walk, and Ted Dušek, Jr., had
two walks. We were all pleased with
this win.
We had several of our loyal supporters
at the game, though a lot of fcbem were
missing. Our thanks for your presence
and your cheering.
Wednesday night, July 17, we played
Mayhew Machinery and we won by a
score of 15 to 3. I lhad to miss the game
beca-use of an accident with a lawn
mower Do be careful when you use yours
—so I can only give a brief account of
this game.
Wes Jaška hurled a very good game al-
Strana 17
lowlng three hits, one walk and struck
out seven batters.
Wilbur Munger was his battery mate
behind the dish. I know that judging
from the score, we had to háve a lot of
base hits, but all 1 can report for the
hitters is that Alex Parma hit a home-
run.
We sure missed Alex the previous week
when we last those three games, he was
in Colorado on his vacation.
As I háve nothing else to report, I
would like to také this opportunity and
telí all of our members and our friends
that everyone of the fellows on our team
are wonderful guys, win, lose, or draw,
and regardless where we finish up in the
standings at the end of the season, you
can be proud of them. I feel that we are
most fortunate to háve them represent
our lodge and our Order and it is my
privilege to be ílheir manager.
Do come out and see the team play,
you háve only the rest of this month
of July as the season will soon be over.
Fraternally yours,
Bro. Ben Jarma, Manager
