LODGE NO. 26, SKXDMORE
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The regnlar meting of Slovan Jihu
No. 26 was held Sunday, March lst at
the Olmos Club Building, with Presi-
dent Clifton Trlica presiding. The
meeting commenced at 10:45 a.m.
The Pledge was given by Linda Gil-
bert.
We were pleased to háve Brother Joe
Koliha at the meeting, and we cer-
tainly missed Sister Hattie Koliha who
could not be at this meeting due to
recent surgery on her foot. We hope
to háve Sister and Brother Koliha at
our next meeting in June.
Sister Annie Gilbert read the minutes
of the December meeting, These were
approved as read. Sister Gilbert then
read the Resolution of Sympathy for
our departed Brother, J. P. Nedbalek.
Election of a delegáte and alternate
for the coming convention were held.
Brother Charlie Hanuš is our dele-
gáte and Sister Annie Mae Gilbert is
the alternate.
We are happy to welcome two new
members. They are Brother and Sister
Joe Trial. Sister Trial is the former
Arline Trlica.
The meeting adjourned at 12:10 p.m.
Dinner was spread buffet style.
Our next meeting will be held on
June 5th at 1 p.m.

SOKOL FORT WORTH
Dear Members and Friends:
Our February 26th meeting Was well
attended. We had as our guests Con-
gressman and Mrs. Jim Wright We
were happy to háve them with us. Also
M!r. and Mrs. Jim Hughes. We hope
they will come back to see us again.
On February 29th we had a ham sup-
per, with games afterwards, which
everyone seemed to enjoy.
Our gym class attendance has been
very good. If you háve any children in-
terested in drilling, bring them Tues-
day night and let them see what our
Sokols are doing.
Thanks to Mr. Ray Johnson who
welded our parallel bars, and to Mr.
Henry Geote who fixed a new ring
rigging, and is making new wheels for
our parallel bars. There has also been
some painting doně on some of our
other Sokol equipment. Thanks again
to everyone who has helped. We appre-
I would like to congratulate Mr. and
Mrs. Larry Hopkins on the birth of
their daughter, Lisa Ke ryl, February

26th. The baby weighed 7 Ibs., 4V2 ozs.
Mrs. Hopkins is the former Evelyn
Mason. The proud grandparents are
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Mason and Mr.
and Mrs. J. N Hopkins.
Our next Sokol meeting will be held
Wednesday night, March 25th. We
would like to háve more of our mem-
bers attend these meetings.

LODGE NO. 47, SEATON
Dear Friends:
We had a very good meting last Sun-
day, with Brother Kohut presiding.
Brother Hejl, our president, was at-
tending the By-Laws Committee meet-
ing held in the Supreme Lodge. Brother
Kohut, you did a wonderful job.
The Minutes were read and ap-
proved as read.
Correspondence was read; none
n e e d e d d i = c u s s i o n.
New members admitted into our
lodge were: James Shelfco-n, Noncy
Shelton, into the adult deportment,
and Mary Katherine Shelton into the
juvenile department, Dorothy Hogan
took out an additional policy. We wel-
come these new members and hope
that they will particípate in our lodge
activities.
Fach chairman of the various com-
mittees gave his report. They were
all satisfactory.
Sister Haisler read the minutes of
our last Board of Directors meeting.
Minutes were approved.
Motion has been made that we
cliarge $1 per person at dances, begin-
ning with the first danee after Easter.
Motion carried.
We háve clecided to hold a political
rally in our halí on Saturday, March
14, beginning with a supper at 5 p.m.
Sisters are asked to bring pastry ancl
to help in the kitchen. So let us not
forget this clate and all of you come
out and enjoy the evening with the
candidates of Central Texas.
On the sick list we háve: Brothers
Jeny Hejl, John Bravenec, Joe Bartek,
Joe B. Pechal. We hope that these hro-
thers will be well soon.
We had a very good youth program
prepared by our new youth leader, Sis-
ter Vlasta Diviš, with Sister Vlasta
Hruška assisting her. As í'cr me, I cer-
tainly enjoyed it. A,11 you children did
well. I am sure that Sister Diviš will
send the program to the Herald. After
the program, we had an Easter egg
hunt and then the best thing of all —

lunch. We had coffee, cake, sandwiches,
ancl cookies. The afternoon was gone
before we knew it, I must say, very
sociably ancl enjoyably. Next Ume, all
of you come to the meeting again and
enjoy yourselves.
The following donations were re-
ceived:
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Polívka of Wis-
consin donated $25.20 to the memoriál
fund in memory of Mrs. Polivkats par-
ents, Bro. Frank and Sister Rosie Kris-
tinek; Dorothy Pechal, Theresa Chláp-
ek, Eleanora Spanhel, Elsie Sodek,
Laverne Vaniček, Frank Spanhel, Ruth
Maruna, and Clara Hejl donated $25
to the Kitchen Fund which they re-
ceived from the Goodyear Tire Com-
pany for helping with their party.
Girls, if you are interested in en-
tering the queen and king or duchess
contest, notify Sister Vlasta Diviš as
soon as possible.
Our next meeting will be held on
Sunday, Apríl 5 at 2 p.m. Everybocly
come.

LODGE NO. 88, MOBSTON
Dear Friends,
We háve some hard-working mem-
bers, and it is through their hard
work that we háve such successful
events as the country sausage sup-
per on February 22nd. Our efficient
Sister Annie Vala had the following
good helpers: Sisters Annie Elsner,
Rosa Lee Ruland, Ruby Černošek, Eve-
lyn Vornsand, Della Kadlecek, Evelyn
Mikeska, and Clemence Courtney; and
Brothers Frankie Sembera, Bili Vonr-
sand, Otto Mikeska, Věrnou Courtney,
and Oscar Helmcamp. Sister Louise
Kadlecek clid an excellent job of col-
lecting the ticket rnoney.
This was > my first time to see that
hilarious comedy, “Vestnicka pod
Lipami,” and I must add that it is one
of the funniest plays I háve ever
seen. Congratulations to actresses
Frances Olexa, Kathy Blaha, and
Stephanie Kovalcik; actors Rudy Sef-
cik, Tim Kostom, Jerry Errnis, John-
nie Sula, Amos Kadlecek, and Felix
Škarpa; and prompter Jerry Pokorný!
It was your good performanees that
made it so entertaining, and we are
grateful to you for all this pleasure; we
know how much of your time your
contributed to make this possible,
