AUGUST 8, 1973
FROM THE EDITOR S DESK
ATTENTION AIX MEMBERS AND
ESPECIALLY COKItESPONDENTS:
Effective August 15, 1973 we are mov-
mg the deadline for materiál to be
published in the (followmg issue of
the Yestnik to THURSDAY. Improve-
ments at the Čechoslovák Fublishing
Company are being instituted, and
various other reasons, force us to ad-
vance the deadline in order to meet
the new schedule. We hope our corres-
pondents will understand and will ar-
range their mailing schedules to con-
form to our new políey. We appreciate
your cooperation and are looking for-
ward to working with cveiyone to
make our Vestnik an even better piťbli-
cation than it is today.
In this eolumn, last week, we stated
that we would refer to the Excerpts
of the Minutes of the July Supreme
Lodge Meeting and we are doing so.
In this issue, you will find under the
heading: Office of Supreme Lodge, a
letter to: The Delegates of the XXIst
Convention. Read it carefully! A
sample ballot. follows the letter.
In the convention yours truly stated
that I felt it my duty to the member-
iship (and delegates) to keep them in-
formed and call attention to the im-
portant issues, decisions, and happen-
ing. in our Society.

minutes ťrom eolumn 2, last 2 para-
graphs, and 4 paragraphs from eolumn
3 of page 14 of the August 1 issue of
our Vestnik:
“President Morris brought up the
hospitalization pian for the Supreme
Lodge offieers, employees and editor.
Action on this matter had been post-
poned from the last meeting.
“It was moved that thei board go on
record that we recommend a hospital-
ization pian similar to a proposed pian
that was. explained in detail in the
meeting, and this pian would include
the offieers, employees and editor.
Seconded and carried.
“Recess for lunch was taken at 12:00
hoon and the meeting reconvened at
1:30 p.m.
“A motion was made that a referen-
dum be submitted to delegates of the
XXI Convention that the authority
granted to the Supreme Lodge be
amended to read that the Supreme
Lodge be authorized to put into effecfc
a group hospitalization pian for Su-
preme Lodge offieers, employees and
the editor and their respeetive depen-
dents and the cost of same be paid
by the SPJST and the participant;
providing however, that the part of the
participant shall not exceed $10.00 per
month. Seconded and carried.
“Following a discussion it was moved
that the same proceduře be ušed in
sencíing out the referendum as was
ušed on the last referendum. Motion
seconded and carried.
“It was agreed that the referendum
be sent within 30 days.”
You háve over a montjťs time to
consider this issue and you are ad-
vised to give this your fraternal con-
sideration, discuss this with your mem-
bership and act democratically on the
issue. It is regrettable that this was
not brought before the convention,
however, your editor wishes to remain
neutrál and is merely calling your at-
tention to what is involved, such as:
who would be insured (members work-
ing for our SPJST Society and their
dependents), cost to the’ Society, etc.
'Think these things out, discuss them
and, in the finál analysis, vote as your
judgment dictates.
