LODGE NO. 84, DALLAS
Bear Members,
The beautiful day last Sunday cer-
tainly belped our attendance. Wasn’,t
it good to see everyone! Tnirty-jfive of
our 1968 new candidates were present
for THEIR day. Supreme Lodge Secre-
tary and Mrs. R. Urbanovsky honored
us with their presence. It was Bro-
Urbanovsky who initiated the candi-
dates and we think his opening re-
imarks would háve put anyone at ease
iand feelipg a definite urge to be a part
of this fraternal order. He said: “My
friends, I am grateful to know that
you not only recognize the benefits of
our order, blit that you háve made
application for membership.” Later,
this proud gentleman related the his-
tory of the SPJST Society — dating
back to its start in 1897. While
watching and listening to Bro. Urb-
anovsky you qould see what pride he
takés in being a part of this fraternal
society.
We at Lodge 84 say thank you, Bro.
Urbanovsky, for being with us and
hope you and Sister Urbanovsky had a
pleasant trip home.
Lodge President Sid Pokladník was
pleased that so many members helped
lo prepare for our 59 th anniversary
and wishes to thank you. Youtli Lead-
er Bessie Petr wanted to express her
gratitude to her assistants who workecl
so hard on the program — by name.
Sisters Elsie Mahdak, Martha Mahdak,
Betty Olsen, Annie Petr, Wanda Petr,
and Dorothy Reznik.
Teen Club President Robert Urban
invited everyone present to attend
their smorgasbord dinner Saturday,
April 12. The prices for the feast are
75 cents for adults and 50 cents for
children under 12. All teenagers are
asked to contribute a meat dish (chiek-
en, meat loaf, sausage, ete ) and par-
ents who háve no teenagers are asked
to bring either a salad or vegetable.
Start inviting your friends — you
know how good the food will be. Re-
member, there will be a sociál and
garn.es afterward. Thaťs Saturday,
April 12, the line starts forming at 6:30
p.m. — be in it.
Háve you triod to use the new phone
booth where Bro. John Kubacak work-
ed so hard to make it souncl proof? And
what a change in the youth room! I
won’t spoil the surprise — telling you
what color your roo.m is painted — blit
it isn’t blue. My, that house committee
is a busy one!
Lódges 84 and 130 will host the Dal-
las Fraternal Council Tuesday, April
