Bro. Frank Henzen looked great at
the meeting. Iťs hard to believe that
just a week or so ago people were
visiting him in the hospital. We hope
Sister Steiner is resting comfcrtably
today. We are sorry to report she re-
mains on the siek list.
Congratulations to- Bro. and Sis. J.
Kutil, Bro. and Sis. F. Vodička and Bro.
R. Buron, who received the speciál
awards for their many years of de-
voted Service and to Bro. Emil Petr and
Bro. Míike Frnka — each received the
“Brother of the Year” award and I
háve the beautiful plaque which has
my name carved on it, as “Sister of
the Year.” Gee whiz, I’m so proud. Fm
just not good with words, but I sin-
cerely appreciate the honor the mem-
bership bestowed upon me.
Welcome, to Bro. Larry and Sister
Barbara Zahoj nik who háve trans-
ferred to Lodge 84.
Bro. and Sister Charlie Prasifka
celebrated their 12th wedding anni-
versary last Sunday — both looked reál
happy. Congratulations!
Did you hear about SSister Lillie Bar-
tek getting caught by a revolving
dooř? Hope the pain in her arm and
side is less painful by this dáte and
the Jarmas had two car accidents
in three days — no one was injured
seriously. Just don!t ask Sister Car-
lene Ondrusek about her Las Vegas ac-
cident.
Our next lodge meeting is Monday,
Apríl 21 at 8 p.m. You will try to at-
tend — and a reminder — you now
háve 22 days to get ready for our
Tommy Vaněk Dance, April 19.

Bear Friends,
At our March meeting the members
of the Beyersville lodge elected Diana
Matoska as the 1969 May Fete Queen.
Congratulations Diana. We are going
to háve our May Fete on May 18. May
Fete information will be printed later.
Mr. and Mrs. John Maresh are fee-
ing hanored as Mr. and Mrs. Lodge 48
for 1968, Our April meeting which is to
be held April 13 will be to honor this
outstanding couple. The youth club will
present a program for this occasion.
We will háve a covered dish supper
VĚSTNÍK
and an Easter egg Kunt. This will aII
start at the usual time of 3 p.m.

LODGE NO. 66, WACO
Bear Members,
The March meeting was opened at
3 p.m. bv President Emil Hanuš.
Julie Slovák, Kay Gerlich and Mar-
ilyn Mot is gave the Pledge of Alleg-
iance and Lodge Pledge.
All ofíicers were present except Fi-
nancial Secy. Darlene Engelke, Flag
Bearer Johnnie Gaidusek. They were
both ill with the flu. The February
minutes were read and were. approved,
Mrs. Joe Gaidusek v/as a visitor.
Glad to háve you with uc.
A thank-you card was read from the
James Locke family. President Hanuš
asked everyone to stand in silent
prayer on the loss of their mother and
grandmother.
Bro. Leon Hensel read the minutes
of the Board of Directors meeting on
March 3. Thanks were given to Bro.
Frank Parma for the cabinet, in which
the speakers are to be plače cl. Thanks
also to Brothers Bili Korenek, for
painting the Linden Halí sign, and
Hensel, who put lights over the sign.
The sign really looks nice and can be
seen from a distance nov:.
Youth Leader Libbie Parma reported
for the youth. £he has had very good
attendance and they háve been busy
planning more projects to do. State
Youth Directov James Janoušek will
hold an all-day youth leaclers’ seminář
at Linden Halí. Saturday, April 19. The
youth club will furnish the food for
the noon lunch. She has asked that
,sorne of the" adults help prepare the
food. The teenage youth will help with
the serving.
Dne to the bad weather, the youth did
not fly their kites, but will fly them at
the Easter liunt. Also, because so many
of our members were absent, due to
the flu, the Progressive 42 party was
póstponed till the March 30, Easter
hunt. Also, Sis. Parma said all ch;U~
dren of the lodge are invited to the
Ehster hunt. The youth club will spon-
sor the egg hunt, wieners for the Wien-
er roast and “pevo.” It will start at
3:30 p.m. So papas and mam as, bring
the children and enjoy the evening.
There will be soine very nice prizes for
42 and I know you will enjoy the time
spent with your children.
The youth háve a project planned

to raise money for the Easter Seal
drive.
New members accepted at Lodge 66

Reese, James Allen Pankonien, Doro-
tky Elizabeth Bristol. Welcome to Lodge
66.
Pres. Hanuš presented a plaque to
Bro. James Pavliček which he won at
the District III organizers’ banquet,
February 23 at Lodge 84, Dallas, in the
Applieation-a-Month Club, for 60 mon-
ths. Congratulations, Bro. Pavliček.
Bro. Ed Mazanec presented the love-
ly bronze plaque to be placed on the
,speaker’s rostrum, with this inscrip-
tion on it: “Buiit by Bro. Frank Par-
ma; Donated to Lodge 66 by Bro. Frank
and Sis. Libbie Parma, in memory of
their parents, Bro. Roman and Sis.
Prancis Parma, Bro. Frank and Sis.
Mary Chamrod.” It will be placed on
the front of the rostrum. This is a
wonderful memoriál in memory of
these dear ones, who háve passed on to
eternal rest.
The Health Committee reported that
Bro. E. M. Shiller is ill in the hospital.
He is some better, so remember him
in your prayers. Sis. Irene Tadlock,
Sis. Mabel Crow and Mark Schiemenz
háve been in the hospital. All are now
home and doing fine. Bro. Otis Česka
has been ill, we hope he is doing O.K.
Our secretary, Betty Slovák, has had
pneumonia, but is doing better. Fin.
Secy. Darlene Engelke has been down
with the flu, also Bro. Silas Smith. "We
hope they get to feeling better soon.
There háve been many others. It seems
that entire families are down with it.
It has really made some of them sick.
I wísh all of you a speedy recovery and
that you ali will be better. Maybe this
lovely sunshine will get rid of the flu
bug. Hope so.
Sis. Agnes Mazanec, also sent sym-
pathy cards to Bro. Nick Morris and
family on the loss of his brother-in-
law, Sis. Louise Matus and family, on .
the loss of her sister, Sis. Gloria Locke
and family on the loss of her mother.
Congratulations to Sis. Mary Nell
Narovec and Mr. Pheips Brookshire,
who will be married Saturday, March
22, at St. Louis Catholic Church.
The lovely cake was baked by Pa-
tricia Stanislav, for these having birth-
days in February. They were, Sisters
Mathilda. Hanuš, Mildred Motis, Mau-
rine Trefnéy, Clara- Kutní, and Rose
Kolár, Brothers John Engelke, Jimmie
Motis and Joe Gaidusek. Happy birth-
day to all of you.
