Mrs. Marie Elizabeth Bartosh,
77,of Penelope passed away Sat-
urday, January 26 in a Hillsboro
hospital. Requiem Mass was held
at 10 a.m. Monday in the Blessed
Virgin Mary Church of the Nativi-
ty, Penelope with Rev. Bohumil
Hrubý officiating. Burial was in
St. Mary’s Cemetery in Penelope.
Sister Bartosh was a memfoer of
Lodge 167, Penelope, a!nd held the
Office of financial secreitary for
number of years.

Brother Joe R. Mazanec, 77, of
West was dead on arrival at West
Community Hospital at 3:45 Thurs-
day afternoon, January 31st fol-
lowing a heart attack. Requiem
Mass was held at 10 a.m. Saturday
in St. Mary’s Catholic Church of
the Assumption in West, with Rev.
George Doskocil officiating. In-
terment was in St. Mary’s Ceme-
tery in West. Brother Mazanec was
a longtime financial secretary and
treasurer of Lodge No. 54, West.
He was a brother of PC Chairman
Ed Mazanec.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anders
celebrated their 25th wedding an-
niversary on November 25, 1973.
Por the joyous bccasion Mrs.
Anders wore a floor-length tur-
quoise dress with láce bodice, white
orchid with silver leaves and rib-
bons. Mr. Anders wore a silver
boutonniere,
At the registration table was
Mrs. Victor Dubrka, maid of hon-
or; Mrs. Jerry Shimek, witness'
wife. Both wore floor-lbngth
dresses with red corsages.
All the bridesmaids, groomsmen
and witnesses were present.
The main table held a beautiful
silver arrangement and a white,
with turquoise, silver trim wedding
cake.
A large group of relatives and
friends attended and enjoyed a
menu that consisted of chicken,
sausage, potatoes, sauerkraut,
beáne, strudel, cake and kolache.
The afternoon was enjoyed lis-
tening and dancing to the Music
Ramblers of Moulton.
The Anders were blessed with
three children; Mrs. Shirley Eam-
est, Danny and Jimmy Anders, all
of Houston,

BROTHER PETE VALCHAR
Brother Pete Valchar, director of
the Supreme Lodge, SPJST, repre-
senting District 7, has been elected
to serve a three-year term as a
member of the Atascosa County
ASCS Committee.
His election came as newly el-
ected community committeemen
met in county convention at the
Jourdanton Civic Center.
Brother Valchar succeeded Mr.
Raymond Meyer, a veterán mem-
ber on the committee.
Congratulations Brother Valchar.
