FROM THE LODGE
YOUTH LEADERS
LODGE NO. 24, CYCLONE
Dear Members,
Iťs been quite a while silice Lve
written to the Vestnik, so I must do
so and let you all know that our youth
club is still very much alive, even
though school takés up a large part of
their time. Recently, we conducted a
charity project and collected maga-
zines for the rest homes.
The night of Oct. 18th we had a hay-
ride and after that a Wiener roast in
Mr. and Mrs. 'Eirnest Schilleťs pasture.
The children got a thrill out of this,
since it was the first hayride for most
of them, probably for some of the
adults, too. We had a. beautiful moon, a
nice brisk night, and many hearty ap-
petites.
Judging from some of the youth lead-
erů letters, I really missed out on a
good training class. It was the first one
I had to miss. We had a death in the
íamily when the first one was held,
and the seconcl one was changed and I
didn’t know about it. Maybe next time.
Our youth meeting will be held Nov.
12th at 1:30 p.m. The adults will háve
lunch and they will host the youth
this time.
Fraternally,
Mollie Zavodily,
Youth Leader

LODGE NO. 87, TEMPLE
Dear Members,
October was a busy month for our
club. We made 54 Halloween deeora-
tions and sent them to the rest home
in Taylor. On Oct. 27 we had a Beseda
practice and made black cats, pump-
kins, and posters for our 70th anni-
versary, which was held Oct. 29 at our
lodge. We also put on a program and
the Beseda was the stár attraction.
The children worked the white ele-
pliant booth, cleaned tables, and the

lodge grounds. Mr. August Kacir was
our speciál speaker, and Brother Hejny
also ga-ve us an inspiring speech.
Instead of treating ourselves for
Halloween we treated the senior
citizens of Harvest House with a pro-
gram on Oct. 31. We also made decora-
tions for their buildin.g.
Now, we are helping St. Mary’s Al~
tar Society make decorations for their
Christmas bazaar.
Don’t forget Nov. 12 and our kitchen
shower for our lodge. Bring your par-
ents because we will háve election of
officers. Time: 2 p.m.

Frances Bartek

LODGE NO. 83, SWEET HOME
Dear Members,
On Oct. 22 we held our monthly
meeting in Slcvacek’s Ballroom. There
was no new business (old or new),
which resulted in a very short meeting.
I hope that our November meeting will
be better. We are going to pian our
Christmas party then, so all of you
youth members be sure to come.
Our dooř prize (a carto-n of Dr. Pep-
per), went to David Chumchal and
was donated by Mr. Hahn of Cuero,
distributor of that good drink.
Remember, Nov. 19 — next meeting.
Fraternally,
Irene Slováček,
