mittee has been working on the pro-
gram for the State Fair. The chffidren
are learning folk dances and singing,
and the others are learning the Beseda.

FL 1-5910 for information about re-
hearsals. The committee would appre-

Dear Re a der s,
Iťs been a long tkne since I’ve writ-
ten because I’ve been very busy this
summer, but I’d like to telil you a little
about an exciting day eoming up Au-
gust 29th at my Lodgej 130;. We are
having our yearly coronation. I would
like to invite each one af youi who are
reading this letter to come and en-
joy yourseíves. Brlng the whole fam-
ily! The dance begins at 8:30 p.m. and
the famous “Peppermints” are ptlay-
ing for your entertainment. It will be a
happy and thrilling day for all of us
here in the Youth Club and, as the old
saying goes, “the more the merrier.”

is sponsoring a “back-to-school” dance
Friday, August 28th, from 7:30 to 10:30
p.m. Refreshments of punch and cook-
ies will be served. The admission will

LODGE NO. 25, ENNIS
Dear Readers,
The Youth Dluh met Aug. 19 at the
National Halí. The meeting was called
to order by President Patricia Troja-
cek. The minutes were read by Frances
Jo Kudrna and approved.
The Beach Party that was held Juliy
29 was discussed. Mrs. G. Louis Kudrna,
youth leader, told the group about the
Česka Beseda that will be danced at
the State Fair. She also stated that
there wilíi be folk dances for the young-
er members, This was taken into con-
sideration.
Plans for a back-to-school teenage
VĚSTNÍK
dance were made. The dáte is August
28, and there will be a charge of 25c
per person. Refreshments will be serv-
ed. A coamnittee of five peopte will
write out cards.
After the meeting was adjourned,
everyone enjoyed skating.

Dear Vestnik Readers,
This is a smáli remindér that our
next meeting will be on September
13th, thaťs the second Sundav in Sep-
tember instead of the first iSunday, clue
to the Keller reunion.
We háve a lot of new members: Lar-
ry Wayne, and Edwin Joe Marek, Judy
Gail Matustik and Timothy Nemecek.
Afoo nine members from Cottonwood
transferred to West. They are Mr. and
Mrs. Eirnedt Zahirniak and family.
You all come to our meeting begin-
ning at 2 p,m.
On August 15th we had a beautiful
weddingi at our hal], of Miss Linda
Sweeney and Donnie Volcik, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Raymond Volcik. We were
gtiad to see many of the SPJST mem-
bers there and we all did enjoy danc-
ing to, the good band of Victor Pavlas.
They sure play well and I hope they
will ptiay more often at our halí. Thaťs
all the news.

WHEREAS, it has been the will of
our Aimighty God to call from our
midst our brother,
EMIL JULIUS BUCEK,
who died on July 16, 1964, at the age
of 78 years, at the Grace Lutheran
Plospital, in San Antonio, Texas; and
WHEREAS, Brother Emil Julius Bu-
cek had been a loyal and faithťul
member of our lodge, being a contin-
uous member since March. 10, 1912; be
it therefore
REÍSOLVED, tha.t we, the members of
Lodge San Antonio No. 133, extend our
deepest and heartfelt sympathy to his
family and all his friends in their
hour of sorrow; and be it further
RESOLVED, that a copy of this res-
olution be sept to the Vestnik for pub-

licaticn, and a copy be placcd in the
minutes of our meeting.

RESOLUTICN OF SYMPATHY
Wc the undersigned Resolution Com-
mittee of Lodge Roskvet Zapadu No,
167, Fioresviile, Texas, in behalf of
our entire membership, wish to ex-
tend our heartiett sympathy to the be-
reaved children, grandchildrcn, and
great grandchildrcn of our dear broth-
er,
BRO. JAMES MAREK,
who passed away in Hondo, Texas, Au-
gust 8, 1964, at the age of 91 years, be-
ing a member of our lodge for 51 years.
James Marek was born in Selsko,
Moravia on Nov. 28, 1872. Iie came to
America with his parents at the age
of 7 years, landing at Indianola.
The family Uved in Gonzales w here
Mr. Marek married Miss Anna Micola
in 1907.Mr. and Mrs. Marek and their
six children moved to a f arní five miles
from Floresvitlle. At this home 6 more
children were born. In 1920 Mr. Marek
]ost his dear wife and infant daughter.
Pie continued farming and reared his
children. In i 947 he retired and moved
to the home of his daughter and son-
in-law, M'r. and Mrs. August Timmer-
man at Hondo.
Survivors are four sons, Frank, John.
and William of San Antonio, Edward of
Alice; six daughters, Mrs. Henry (An-
na) Timmerman of Falfurrias, Mrs.
August (Agncs) Timmerman of flonclo,
Miss Atbina Marek of Dallas, Mrs. Juli-
us (Louise.) Biurkhardt of San An-
tonio, Mrs. John (Adell) McEvoy of
Riverside, CaliL, and Miss Elizabeth
Marek of Corpus Christi, one sister, Mrs.
Rosa Kosha.rek of San Antonio, several
grandchildrcn, and great grandchil-
dren.
Rosary was recitcd Sunday night by
Rcv. Harold Elilinger at Harger Chap-
di, Hondo. Iligh Mass was eonducted by
Rev. Daniel Hennessy at the Sacred
Heart Catholic Church in Floresville
at 11:30 a.m. Interment was in Sacred
Heart Cemetery in Floresville, Monday
August 10, 1964, at 12 noon, beside his
wife and infant daughter. May he rest
in peace.
