LODGE NO. 176, HOUSTON
NORTHWEST
The regular meeting of Lodge 176
was held Sept. 20th at Long Point
National Bank. President Harry
Schuhmann called the meeting to
order.
The minutes from the last mon-
th's meeting were read by Sister
Pat Daughtery.
Treasurerk report was given by
Sister Ruth Moore.
Discussion coneemed the prep-
arations for the fall Districfc V
meeting which we (the lodge mem-
bers) will host on Oct. 3rd at Lodge
Steřanik No. 142, 5506 Nolda, Hous-
ton. Pollowing the meeting there
wili be music furnishdd by the
Country Sbund, the great sound of
polka-waltz, plus variety music.
More discussion was on the mat-
ter of purchasing land for our new
lodge home. We are still urging
more members to attend our reg-
ular medtings (to voice their opin-
ions on this matter) which are
held monthly on every third Mon-
day at 7:30 p.m. at Long Point Na-
tional Bank in the Western Boom.
This lodge has great possibdlities.
Another reminder: Our annuaJ
meeting will be held Nov. 15th at
the VFW Halí in Addicks.
Once again we are proud of Gary
Schuhmann and all the youth of
our lodge who háve won awards
and participated. Their parents
and we, the members, are very
proud. Keep up the good Work, kid-
does!
We are glad to hear that Mr. A.
B. Stubbs is out of the hospital. We
hope he keeps on improving, and
this íncludes the other folks who
háve been sick.

LODGE NO. 179, WAKRENTON
Dear Members and Friends:
Lodge 179 held their regiáax
meeting at Zapp’s Halí, Warren-
ton, Sept. 17th.
The meeting was called to order
by President Harold Bergmann who
also led the members in the pledge
of allegiance.
All the officers, plus a nice at-
tehdance, were present.
Secretary Dennis Roemer read
the minutes of the previous meet-
ing, which were approved as read.
Sister Helen Leonhardt gave the
treasureťs report and this was also
accepted as read.
The revlew of Sept. 12th activi-
ties revealed all events wete a
great success, and a giant step for-
ward to the growth of our lodge.
For this the members were exceed-
ingly thankful to everyone who
came, participated, supported or
entertained us; so we will be look-
ing forward to se’eing all of you
again.
Then the secretary read the let-
ter from our member, Gene Hack-
emack, who is presently employed
in Irán. He statek that he wishes
to hear from members and friends.
His present address is: A. G. Hacke-

We wish him every success in his
new job, and welcome him back
in our midst when his job termi-
nates overseas.
For further business it was de-
cided to proceed to háve our mefet-
ings at Zapp’s Halí on the second
Friday nights of the month. This
will continue to give those mem-
bers whose residence is elseWhere a
better opportunity to attend.
There being no other business,
the lodge meeting adjourned for
socializing, barbecue supper with
all the trimmings, music and danc-
ing.

LODGE NO. 81, NEEDVILLE
Dear Members and Friends:
Our September meeting was con-
vened at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept.
4th by President Charlie Matcek.
The members stood for a moment
of silent tribute to our members
who passed aiway since our last
meeting. They were Brothers John-
ny Macek of Elkhaxt and Joe
Merecka who was a resident of
Needville S.P.J.S.T. Rest Home H
for several months. Our sincere
sympathy is extended to their fam-
ilies on the loss of their loved ones.
The minutes of the previous
meeting were accepted as read by
Secretary Mary Werner.
Reports were given by Financial
Secretary Ellene zwahr and Treas-
urer Corlis Vallet.
A very thorough report on all
income and expense for the past
month was given by the Speciál
Fund Treasurer Gilbert Walzel.
We would like to extend a warm
welcome to our new member, Don-
ald Ray Pate.
Members who were hospitalized
since our last meeting are Brother
and Sister Louis Tejkl. Sister Tejkl
came home Tuesday but Brother
Louis is still hospitalized. Brother
Leo Mikeska underwent surgery re-
cently and he is at home now con-
valekcing and resting. Our sincere
wishes for their speedy and com-
plete recovery are with them.
We háve members who are ill
in their respeCtive homes and in
rest homes who need constant care.
To them, and to those who také
care of them go our warm thoughts
and our love.
Get-well cards were mailed to
Brother Leroy Kamas and Sisters
Mary Matloch and Matilda Sla-
calek.
In my last report I mentioned
that we háve voted to sponsor a
barbecue dinner as a řund-raising
projeCt to help pay for our new
home building. The barbecue will
be held Sunday, Oct. lOth, at 11
a.m., and the meat will be sold at
the pit, also. Cards will be mailed
out to you, dear members, asking
for your support in furnishing pas-
try, pickles, tea, coffee, lemons and
sugar.
We will also háve a Country Store
like we háve been having, so we
are hoping you will support it,
also.
We are inviting all our neígh-
boring lodges to come out and <Sn-
joy the day with us.
Our next meeting will be held at
night again. It will fall on the first
Tuesday, Oct. 5th, at 7:30 p.m.
Due to a lengthy meeting, we did
not háve a lunch. The refund
checks were distributed and the
dooř prize was won by Sister Mary
Werner who, in turn, gave it back
to the lodge. Thank you Sister
Werner.
Let us all be at the next meet-
ing, because the finál details for
the barbecue dinner will be worked
out.
