LODGE NO. 73, SEYMOUR
Dear Readers,
I háve a little time so I will write
a few lineš. Saturday the 8th,
we went to Six Fla,gs and had lots of
fun. Sunday we had our Youth meet-
ing, We didn’t make anything but we
planned for the district meeting. Sun-
day we are going to háve an ice cream
supper. We had a supper at the park.
We had lots of fun.
X háve been going swimming but
summer fun will end August the 31st. I
háve to cóok dinner so good-bye un-
til next month.

Frank F. Toupal was born in Czecho-
slovakia on March 2, 1882, and came
to America with his parents at the
age of 12. His people settled in Ehnis,
where they farrned. Ke later married
the former Mary Barbara Strouhal,
aíso of Ennis, and nine children were
born to that union. Both he and Mrs.
Toupal belongcd to SPJST Lodge No.
VĚSTNÍK
110 at Kaufinan, Texas, and both had
reeeived their 50-year membership
pins several years ago. Mrs. Toupal
preceded her husband in death on
December 12, 1960.
Brother Toupal had been a .grocer
most of his life, having owned his own
store at Kaufman. He later moved to
Dallas and worked in a defense plant
during World War II. He had been
'retired for several years at the time
of his death, and resided at 1151
* Eidgewood Drive, Dallas. He passed
away on July 13, 1964, at the age of
82.
Bro. Toupal is survived by sons
Frank, Stanley, Woodie, and Jerry
Toupal, all of Dallas; daughters Mrs.
Mary Polášek of Lancaster, Mrs. Libbie
Paličh of Houston, Mrs. Edith Towles
of Dallas, and Mrs, Julia Harris of
Dallas; sisters Mrs. Mary Haskovee
and Mrs. Annie Kouba, both of Ennis,
and Mrs, Tony Sebetka of Dallas; 13
grandchildren; 18 great grandchil-
dren.
Rosary was recited at the Anderson-
Clayton Funeral Home, and a Requiem
Mass was selebrated at St. Augustine
Church. Interment was in Grove Hill
Cemetery in Dallas.
May he rest in peace, and may
Perpetual Light shine upon him.

RESOLUTION OF SYMPATHY
We, the undersigned Resolution Com-
mittee of Lodge Karel Jonas No. 28
in East Bernard, Texas, in behalf of
our membership, wish to express our
deeppst sympathy to the bereaved
family of our deceased lodge brother,
FRANK V. URBISH,
wlro died suddenly at his liome at 2
a.m., Thursday, July 9, at the age of
74 years, 11 months, and 7 days.
Mr. Urbish had been a mortieian in
East Bernard for 46 years and was a
prominent cit.izen in this eommunity.
He was born August 2, 1889, in světlo,
Fayette County, Texas. He came to
East Bernard 47 years ago. On Nov.
5, 1912, he married Miss Mary Helen
Drozd in Kattettsville, who passed
away April 23, 1946. On October 5, 1947,
he married Mrs, Julia Anděl in Holý
Cross Church in East Bernard.
Funeral Services for Brother Urbish
were held from the Urbish Funeral
Home at 8:45 a.m. and at Holý Cross
Catholic Church at 9 a.m., July 13, in
East Bernard. A Requiem High Máss
was offered in the church by Msgiv
Wednesday, August 12, 1964
J. A. Valenta, assisted by Rev. Father
Henry Rachunek of East Bernard, and
Rev. Father Pat OUonnell of Port
Arthur.
The deceased was a retired member
of our SPJST lodge, but he served as
a oťfieer of our lodge for many years.
He was very active in our lodge and
will be greatly missed at our meet-
ings.
fíurvivors include his wife, Mrs.
Julia Urbish of East Bernard; four
children, Mrs. Georgia (Charles) Sever-
ance of La Habra, Calif., Mrs. Henrietta
(Rudy) Klečka, Postinaster Justus J,
Urbish of East Bernard, and Bene-
dict F. Urbish of Denver, Colorado;
seven step-children, Mrs. Mary (Floyd)
Zahn of Pasadena, Adolf Anděl of
Wharton, T/Sgt. Edmund Anděl of
Keesler Field, Miss., Daniel Anděl of
Houston, Mrs. Janie (Lawrence) OD
dag, Mrs. Martha (Bennie) Janík, and
Mrs. Bernice (Leroy) Janik all of East
Bernard; ten brothers and Sisters, John
and Fred Urbish, Mrs. Dolphine (Jimi
Smolik, and Mrs. Mary Čada, all of
Hallettsville, Mrs. Magdalena (Joe)
Janik, and Mrs. Olga (Sidney) Matula,
of East Bernard, Henry Urbish, and
Mrs. Annie Gertner of Moulton, George
Urbish of Schulenburg, and Mrs. So-
nhie (William) Janak of Yoakum; 33
grandchildren and one great grand
child.
Interment was in the Holý Cross
Catholic Cemetery in East Bernard.

Olei Stone Fort
The Old Stone Fort, or the “stone
house,” as it was called in the early
records, is one of the most intriguing
buildings in Texas, rich in historical
lot e. Erected about 1779, its inhabitants

a museum located on the campus of
Stephen F. Austin State College at
Nacogdoches.
