Frances Olexa complimented the or-
ganizers on their outstanding work in
reaching their quota of insurance
sales in nine months. John Hilsher re-
ported fchat the books were examined
and recommended that the reports be
aecepted.
Pres. Louis Hanuš reported on the
Czech Day, a very suceessful day, one
of pleasant memories for many. Then
he gave speciál thanks to the follow-
ing: Marlene and Tommy Caraway* for
making the big sign, Doris Knapick for
her work in getting the nanie plaques
and flags, Mildred Holeman for all
her correspondence, Tillie Helmcamp
and her committee for the display, Er-
nest Hanka and his commitee for the
rádio broadcast and especially Ernest
for making the arrangements with
Station KFRD, Agnes Miculka for pic-
tures for publicity, Wanda Elzner and
her co-workers for seating the hon-
ored guests; Lydia Hendrick for her
letters to the Věstník, Frank Dvorak
for framing the picture of Pres. Mas-
aryk, Gladys Efoff and Evelyn Mi-
keska for the program brochure, Har-
ley Cox, L. A, Mikeš and Frankie Sem-
bera for the barbecue, the Board of
Trustees for their help, the Kitchen
Commitee for the good dinner, the
youth for their participation in the
program, and the chorál group for
their entertainment! As Louis sald, it
took many to make our first Czech
Day a great successí
Chairman Harry Rice and Doris Al-
ford of the Rules and Regulations
Committee read the changes proposed
for our Rules and Regulations. This
committee has worked hard for several
weeks. It was decided to hold the an-
nual meeting on the second Sunday
in December; the meeting will start
at 10 a.m., and a goulash dinner will
be served to the members attending the
inorning session.
For some good dancing to wonderful
smooth music, come to our Chandelier
Ballroom this Saturday, for Ray Jur-
ecka will bc there! Don’t forget the
supper and sociál Thursday.
Names in the News: “Happy Birth-
day” was sung at the meeting to: Lee
E. Treybig, Rudy Lesák, Karl Linde-
anann, Ronnie Barcak, Joyce Lyons,
Sne High, Harry Rice, Ji-mmy Caraway,
Royce Jakseh, Frankie Sembera, and
Emil Horeiica! The dooř prizes were
won by Frankie Sembera and John
Brož! Estclle and Stevc Kelly donated

the beverages to celebrate the arrival
of their first .grandchild, Steven Ray
Kelly, son of Sergeant Charles and
Betty Kelly of Fort Hood; congratula-
tions also go to great-grandmother
Daisy Drab! Congratulations and best

wlio surprised everyone by getting mar-
ried whiie Ray was on leave from the
army; Sandra is the pretty daughter
of Gladys and Frankie Sembera and
both were active members of our Teen
Club! Harley Cox, Bili Luczak, and
Fred Málek attended the Kraft Foods
annual convention at Miami, Florida!
Oscar Helmcamp got his buck, and I
ara sure other hunters from our lodge
did, too! “Get-well” wíshes go to Mrs.
E. Knippel, mother of our members
Birdie Hilsher, Loraine Krutilek, and
Ann Flukinger!

Dear Members and Friends,
I wish to announce that our annual
meeting will be held Sunday, Dec. lst,

CLEAN-UF OF JEKFK CEMETERY
NEAR CALDWELL
The markér for the grave of Mr.
Josef Masik has been received by the
Burleson County Historical Survey
Committee. Plans are now being for-
mulated for the installation and dedi-
cation of the markér in the Ježek
Cemetery near Caldwell, Texas. The
cemetery is grown up in weeds and the
tombstones háve toppled over and a
generál cleanup day has been set for
Saturday morning, Nov. 23rd, 1968 from
9 a.m. to 12 noon.
Anyone interested. in helping to
clean up the cemetery is urged to go
directly to the Ježek. Cemetery; how-
ever, those not knowing the location of
the cemetery should assemble at the
Caldwell Court House across the Street
from the post Office. Descendants of
the Ježek and Masik families are espe-

cially urged to be present. In čase of
bad weather and muddy conditions an-
other work day will be designatecl.

LODGE PHAHA NO. 29, TAYLOR
The regular meeting was held Nov.
lOth. It was decided to donate $50 to
the United Fund, It was also decided
to háve our Christmas party Dec. 8th
at 5 p.m., with a covered dish supper,
program, and meeting. Kvery member
is invited to attend.
