Bro. Roy Upton, age 67, passed away
March 6, 1970, in Mart, Texas. He was
ínterred in the Mart Cemetery and was
a member af Lodge Nove Květy No. 35,
Elk, Texas.
Bro. Charles E. Haj dik Is home after
serving 21 months in the Navy. He was
on the US!S‘ Independence CVA-62, pa-
trolling the Mediterranean Sea, English
Channel and Cuban waters. He is em-
ployed by LCRA at the power plant.
His brother, Johnnie, ís serving on the
USS Coral Sea CVA-43 in Vietnamese
waters and expects to come home this
summer. They are the sons of Mr. and
Mrs. August Haj dik of Lodge No. 38,
Kovar.
Sister Frances Krenek, age 86, passed
away February 25, 1970, in Dime Box,
Texas. She was plaeed to eternal rest
in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in
Bro. Joe Fusig, member of Lodge 88,
Houston, was confined to St. Joseph
Hospital in Houston and was due to
undergo surgery Monday, March 16.
Bro. Albín R. ©ulak of West, age 54,
passed away Monday, morning, March
9 in a Waeo hospital. We had talked to
him only the day before. How fast we
leave, indeed. He leaves his wife, five
children, his parents, and a sister. He
was plaeed to eternal rest in St. Mary’s
Cemetery at West and was a faíthful
member of Lodge Jaromir No. 54, West.
Sister (Mrs. Frank B.) Steiner, passed
away at 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 13, in
Dallas. She was buried at 1:30 p.m.
Monday. She was a member of Lodge
Pokrok Dallas No. 84.
Sister Rosie Zimmermann, age 77,
passed away at 11 a.m. Sátu r day,
March 14 at Heights Hospital in Hous-
ton. She was buried Monday at 3 p.m.,
and was a member of Lodge Pokrok
Houston No. 88.
Bro. John Lee Franěk, 72, passed
away February 11, 1970, in Houston.
He was interred in Forest Park Lawn-
dále Cemetery, Houston, and was a
member of Lodge Needville No. 81.

Sister Margaret Morgan., age 46,
passed away February 22, 1970, in
Houston. She was Iaid to eternal rest
in the Koílatsehny Cemetery at Cat
Spring, Texas, and was a member of
Lodge Pokrok Houston No. 88, Houston.
STASNY-WEATHERS WEDDING
Miss Sharyn Marie Stasny, daugh-
ter of Mrs. Edith Karas, secretary of
Lodge 111, became the bride of Mr.
Thurman Clarence Weatliers in a
candlelight ceremony February 20,
1970, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic
Church in Houston, with Rev. T. W.
Kappe of Texas City officiating the
double ring ceremony. The bride was
given in marriage by her father, Mr.
R.eisel Stasny of Houston.
Maid of honor was Miss Jean Tilton
of Houston and best man was Mr. Don-
ald Kappe, also of Houston. Brides-
maids were Mrs. Carol Smith and Mrs.
Jane Cones, Houston, and Miss Kay
Christian of LaMarque. The brides-
maids wore orchid gowns trimmed in
lavender and carried matching bou-
quets.
Groomsmen were Mr. Kevin Stasny
and Mr. Keith Stasny, brothers of the
bride, and Mr. Jimmy Batt, all of
Houston. Mr. Jimmy Bubák of Sealy
was aitar server. Ushers were Mr.
Raymond Andrews and Mr. Mike
Kappe.
Immediately after the ceremony a
reception was held in the Parish Halí.
Bro. Adolf Marek, age 75, passed
away February 4, 1970 in I-Touston. He
was interred in the City Cemetery at
•Caldwell, Texas, and was a member
of Lodge Slovan No. 9, Snook, Texas.
Bro. Joseph C. Ternus, age 57, died
February 12, 1970, in Sinton, Texas.
