The State Queen and King, Frances
Miller and Alan Hensel, were intro-
duced. King Alan was not present..
Kathy Vila was recognized as the
State Talent winner. Officers of the
Supreme Lodge and guests of other
districts were introduced as they carae
in.
The minutes of the previons meet-
ing were approved as read by Sister
Rosemary Spence.
Treasureťs report made by Sister
Jerry Ann Muehlstein, and was as be-
fóre sinee no deposits had been made.
Sister Muehlstein reported that she
had received the eheck far 5 ccnts per
member from 16 lodges and a eheck
ífrom District III for the 5 cents per
member.
Guest speaker for the day was Mr.
Bili Satterwhite. I-Ie gave a very inter-
esting spcech that everyone enjoyed.
Bro. Nesudá thanked Mr. Satterwhite
for being with ais sinee Mr. Satterwhite
is a very busy man.
Brother R. Urbanovsky called out
the names of 19 50-year members, and
a motion was made and earried that
the 50-year members be speciál guests
and that District III pay for their
lunch and that a speciál table would
be arranged for them, Out o)f 19 mem-
bers eligible to receive pins ten were
present to receive them. (See last
weelťs Vestnik).
In presenting the 50-year pins to the
members present, Sisters Frances Mil-
ler and Kathy Vrla assisted Brother
Urbanovsky.
Bro. Arnold Vrla, District III Or-
ganizer, gave the Organizeťs report.
He introduced Sister Anna Milan as
the top Organizer. Sister Milan is
from Lodge 154 in Fort Worth. Brother
Joe B. Hejny presented Sister Milan
with a plaque for her outstanding
work as an SPJST organizer. Brother
Vrla also recognized the following as
outstanding organizers in District III:

Brother Vrla also announced that
they hoped to v/rite two million dol-
lars in ínsr,rance before the conven-
tion. District III has written over 25
per cent in the ifirst three and one-
halí" months of 1884. Brother Vrla also
said he would continue to award cash
prizes to the three top organizers. The
cash awards consist of $15 for the
number one spot, $10 doliars for the
number two spot, and $5 doliars for
the number three spct. In čase ďi a tie
a duplicate prize will be awarded. Any
organizer holding the number one spor.
three times in a row will be awarded
$25. Brother Stanley Vrla received the
No. 1 :pot in March.
Brother Sid Pakladnik reported that
the SPJST Rest Home in Taylor was
progressing, with the finesfc rating in
the State of Texas. In the past month
the principál was paid and we were
up to dáte on the interest.
It was announced that Sister Frances
Bílek, a Charter Member of the SPJST
Order, had passed away on April 22,
1904.
A gold seal award and a eheck was
presented to Sharon Engelke and
Kathy Vrla was the two top winners
in the M’erit Book Contest. The fol-
lowing' Youth Club Members received
a Blue Seal award and eheck: Jean
Spence, Zephyr Spence, Robert Do-
bečka, Jeanettc Krizan, Bobby Podh-
rasky, David Podhrasky, Ruthie
fíchuetz, and Cindy Sobotka. Congratu-
lations to all these youth for the out-
standing work they háve doně in the
Merit Book Contest.
The program for the day consisted
of the “Beatles” from Lodge 84, ancl
the “Lady Bargs,” also from Lodge 84.
The Chorál Group from Dallas per-
formed after the Beatles and Bugs
were exterminated. The program was
enjoyed by all.
Lodge 25, Ennis, was proud of their
trophy they won the day before the
District III meeting for the “Best Or-
ganization Float” in a parade helcl in
Ennis. The trophy was on display for
everyone to see. They hone to enter
the same float in the Cotton Festival
in Waxahachie. We wish them the best
of Inek.
Everycno was reminded that the
second Sunday in October would be
Czech Day at the State Fair of Texas,
hekl in Dallas. Young and old alike
were urged to learn the Beseda and to
be in Dallas on ťnis day to participate
in the Czech Day activities.

Spence kept a scrapbook for District
III and presented it to Mrs. L. O,

Disf. Seven Míg., La Parita: 50-year
member Rmlolph Myška (Ml). Two
other members were not present to
receive their pins: Julia Waílek (26),
and Edmund Horák (133).
Plosek, better known to the SPJST
Youth as “Mama Hošek.” As the dedi-
cation wes being read by Beverly
Gaidusek, Jean Spence walked over
and placed her hand on her shoulder,
“Mama Hošek” was- truly surprised
when she v/as designated as the one
to whom they dedicated the 1963 Dis-
trict III Scrapbook.
A motion was made and earried that
District III as a whole support a flag
for each lodge at the convention. Lodge
35 reported that they were in the
proeess of designing a flag of their
own, hut would support this motion.
Sister. Nesudá submitted a financial
budget for Youth Activity Day. A mo-
tion was made that the new financial
budget oif $325 be granted her for the
Youth Activity Day expenses and the
motion earried, Lodge 92 was selected
