Penny parking mieters are on the way
out. New York and Detroit some time
ago parted with their piker-penny me-
ters. (Detroit now charges 10 cents per
hour for meter parking; in New York
tíie rate is 20 cents per hour.) Houston,
Texas, where things are doně expan-
sively and expensively, has discarded
the penny meter. And plans for nickel-
and-dime parking háve been approved
in Chicago.
