Some classmates are also attend-
ing the Bulldawgs home football
game on Nov. 9. Classes of 1966

CCPD responds to five accidents Friday

The Copperas Cove Police
Department responded to five
reports of accidents on Friday.
The first one was called in
from the 2400 block of East
Highway 190 at 5:10 a.m., and
the next one didn't happen un-
til around 3:28 p.m. in the 200
block of West Highway 190.
At 6:15 p.m., a third accident
was reported from the 1500
block of East Highway 190.
Martin Luther King Jr. Drive
was the scene of the final two
accidents reported on Friday.
The first, reported at 8:16 p.m.
from the 1800 block, involved
damage to a vehicle costing
more than $200 to repair. The
second and last accident report
came in at around 9:48 p.m.
from the intersection of MLK
Jr. Drive and East Highway
190.
Money in the amount of
$7,995 was reported stolen
from a location in the 900
block of Mueller Street on Fri-
day at 12:22 p.m. The Cop-
peras Cove Police Department
was not available at press time
for comment on this case.
A laptop computer valued
at $858 was reported stolen
from a location in the 800
block of Park Avenue on
Thursday at 5:13 p.m.
A burglary of a ve- ^
hide, two reports of
theft and one report of
criminal mischief were
reported on Thursday
at 1:13 p.m. from the
same location in the 200
block of Myra Lou Avenue.
In the first report, two tires and
four PS I sensors were dam-
aged and a vehicle antenna and
screws were stolen. The total
monetary value assessed in the
first incident was $352. In the
second report, the vehicle was
burglarized and $54 worth of
damage was done to a fuse and
a vehicle antenna.
Jewelry and electronics al-
together worth $7,410 were re-
ported stolen on Friday at 7:07
p.m. from a residence in the
1000 block of West Avenue D.
Also on Friday, Cimmer-
ron Julian Trujillo was arrested
in the 200 block of West Tru-
man Avenue at 12:06 a.m. for
unlawful carrying of a firearm
and possession of under 2
ounces of marijuana.
An iPhone valued at $700
was reported stolen from a lo-
cation in the 400 block of Cot-
tonwood Drive on Friday at
6:44 p.m.
Five different indi-
viduals were arrested
on Saturday in unrelat-
ed incidents involving
alcohol.
Leon Russell
Ricks II was arrested in
the 1000 block of Craig
Street and Veterans Av-
enue at 12:02 a.m. for driving
while intoxicated.
Baltasar Jamison Lizano
was arrested at 3:54 a.m. in the
1300 block of West Avenue B
for driving while intoxicated.
Sean Michael Campbell
was arrested in the 2100 block
of East Highway 190 for driv-
ing while intoxicated at 5:37
a.m.
Jeffery Prescott Rivera Jr.
was arrested at 6:20 a.m. in the
100 block of East Hogan Drive
for criminal trespass. Cove po-
lice assisted the Coryell Coun-
ty Sheriffs Office in arresting
Rivera for driving under the
influence of liquor.
Lori Michelle Melendez
was arrested in the 800 block
of East Highway 190 at 6:32
p.m. for being drunk in public.
She was issued a citation.
A juvenile was detained
and then released to a parent
on Saturday at 4:45 p.m. in
connection with a hit and run
accident with damages to a ve-
hicle costing more than $200
to repair. That incident hap-
pened on Nov. 2 in the 1800
block of Martin Luther King
Jr. Drive.
Kevin James Lynch and
Louis Salvatore Polanco were
each arrested at Wahnart in the
same report number and at the
same time at 6:21 p.m. for
theft. Lynch was arrested for
the theft of toys and food val-
ued at $84.82. Those items
were recovered. Polanco was
arrested for the theft of toys
and food valued at $317.87,
and those items were recov-
ered as well.
An aggravated assault
with a deadly weapon involv-
ing assault by contact was re-
ported on Sunday at 12:17 a.m.
from a location in the 1200
block of West Avenue B. In the
same report number and at the
same location, Victor Jesus
Trujillo was arrested at 12:45
a.m. for disorderly conduct in
the form of public affray, and
Jose De Jesus Ortega-Mejia
was arrested at 12:56 a.m., al-
so for disorderly conduct in-
volving public affray.
Mercel D'Shawn Ervin
was arrested on Sunday at 1:09
a.m. in the 1100 block of Golf
Course Road for being drunk
in public. He was issued a cita-
tion. In the same report num-
ber, endangering a child and
assault causing bodily injury
involving family violence
were listed.
Michelle Lee Demarco
was arrested in the 500 block
of Texas Street at 1:44 a.m. on
Sunday for assault causing
bodily injury involving family
violence.
Robert Brett Murray was
arrested on Sunday at 11:21
a.m. in the 900 block of Tam-
my Drive for assault causing
bodily injury involving family
violence in connection with an
incident that occurred on Oct.
31 in the 900 block of Laurie
Lane.
There were no reports of
assault on Nov. 1, 2 or 3. On
Nov. 4, there was one arrest for
endangering a child and as-
sault causing bodily injury in-
volving family violence and
two more unrelated arrests for
assault causing bodily injury
involving family violence. Al-
so, there was one report of as-
sault by threat and one report
of aggravated assault with a
deadly weapon involving as-
sault by contact.

Jamboree will join the Cove's
Got Talent Variety Show on
Saturday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
at the Downtown Theater.

of money, baby items, canned
food, meats, baby food, diapers,
etc. to benefit the Cove House.

■ GED testing to be
held in Gatesville
The next GED test at
Gatesville High School will be
given on Nov. 13 and 14. Indi-
viduals wishing to take the test
must complete registration on
Nov. 7 between the hours of 5
and 7 p.m. in Room 22 at
Gatesville High Schook Come
to the back of the high school to
get to this room easily. The reg-
istration process takes between
30 minutes and one hour. The
individual wishing to take the
test must bring his or her current
Texas Driver's License or state
or federal photo ID, Social Se-
curity card and an $80 fee for
the test. The candidate will also
need to bring the ID to the test.
Persons who failed the test from
2002 through 2012 and need to
retest one or more parts must
pay $15 for each part to retest. It
must have been six months
since the prior testing or since
attendance in GED classes. A
letter from the instructor must
accompany registration. Indi-
viduals having tested before
must present previous test
scores. If the candidate is 17, he
or she needs to bring his or her
guardian along for registration,
and also have withdrawal pa-
pers from the last school he or
she attended. There are more
qualifications for persons under
the age of 18.
The test will be adminis-
tered on Nov. 13 and 14 in
Room 22 at GHS at 5:15 p.m.
Candidates must attend both
nights to complete the test,
which usually takes about four
