Garden Club meeting
The Cedar Creek Lake
Garden Club meets at 1:30

The program, “Step into
My Garden,” will be a
hands-on workshop on per-
sonally designing a step-
ping stone. Members need
to bring a 12” X 12” box or

decorations for the stone.

Expo
The National Alliance on
mental Illness Kaufman
County is sponsoring a gi-
gantic mental health expo
Saturday, Sept. 28 and is
seeking vendors. Exhibits
are not limited to mental
health providers as persons
with mental illness use the
same services and products
available to those without
mental illness.
The expo’s mission is to
bring awareness to the com-
munities about mental
health and provide informa-
tion and resources to per-
sons with brain disorders
and theirfamilies.
The event will be held at
Dr. Bruce Wood Elementary
School in Terrell. A national
speaker will be presenting
a message of “Hope and
Recovery.” State senator
Bob Deuell M.D. will also be
present.

Creek Cleanup
The 15th annual Cedar
Creek Lake Cleanup is from
8:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday,
Sept. 28. After-party picnic

vided with cleanup kits and
stationed at various point
along the lake. Volunteers
receive a T-shirt and are in-
vited to a post-cleanup party
