family reunion at Sherwood last
Saturday on the W. J D Carr place
on Spring Creek
Mr Carr, well known to many
West Texans and who came to
Irion county in 1881. is 81 years old
and barbecued the meat himself
for this occasion He helped or-
ganize the Stiles Odd Fellow Lodge
In 1901

open to all amateurs from over the

Dallas, a former Big Lake girl. Mrs
Eugene McCullough, a daughter of
Mr and Mrs Joe Durnold, appeared
in a picture in a recent issue of the
Dallas Times Herald She was
shown inspecting a case of Texas
grapefruit Juice that was sold
through the efforts of the crusade.

Returning home Monday from a
seven week's trip, Mrs N W Hick-
man reports a wonderful vacation
that included a ten day stay In
the Canadian Rockies and u visit
to Alaska via Vancouver Home-
ward bound Portland. Izxs Angeles
and other west coast points were
touched Salt Lake City, where the
temperature registered 103 degree-,
Mrs. Hickman stated, was about the
only place visited where a coat was
not needed Stops were made at j
Denver and Kansas City before ,
reaching Tulsa. Okla. from which
place the tour started The trip
was made in company with an
aunt whlse home is in Tulsa
