Recently, your editor received a letter in
Czech language from SL President
Morris in which was enclosed a letter,
also in Czech and sent to the Supreme
Lodge address from a Jindřich (Henry)
Chyška from Czechoslovakia. It was
published in the August 13 Věstník
issue on page 26 and, as Bro. Morris
pointed out, we do not know just what
type of records Mr. Chyška would like to
exchange: whether they would be jazz,
country-western, rock and roli or disco,
etc. In essenge here is what he writes.
(Translation): “I greet vou from the old
country. I received your SPJST address
and maybe you can help me.
I am interested in “popular music”
from contemporary groups in the United
States. I would like to exchange records
with someone for records recorded in
Czech or others.
I would appreciate your help and
thank you in advance.
My address is: Jindřich Chyška,
Revoluční 664, Kralupy n. Vit. II. okres
Melnik CSSR-Euiope.”
<*•
The 1980 presidential conventions are
over and this editor dares to statě that
his personál feelings are that in
comparison our SPJST June 1980
Convention in San Antonio was, indeed,
very democratically conducted.
Now we will háve the political
campaigns, promises and speeches. A
writer wrote once: “1 do not see why
anyone would want to be president.”
