Lodge No. 24 members want to let
Sister Vlasta Marek know that we are
sorry to hear about the loss of her home
plus all her belongings in a fire and we
hope the donation of $250 will help to
rebuild her home.
The SPJST 50-year membership pin
presentations’ event held Sunday,
August 17th was a nice program. We
wish to thank the committee consisting
of Sisters: Pat Šebek, Norma Anděl and
LaVerne Cabla. Our thanks also to
Sister Louise Zavodny for getting the
pictures because the camera acted up
and we were afraid that we woukhťt
háve any pictures. I also want to thank
Doris Svoboda and Clara Coufal for
pitching in and taking colored pictures.
We were lucky to get the camera
working before the happenings were
over; we háve some black and white
pictures that I will be sending to the
Vestnik accompanying a story.

LODGE NO. 179, WARRENTQN
Dear Members and Friends:
The fifth Annual Feast of Warrenton
SPJST Lodge No. 179, which was held
Sunday, August lOth began with a
sumptuous noon meal consisting of fried
chieken and all the trimmings and
eulminating at 2 p.m., with a variety
shoot, then continuing in the aťternoon
with various games and an auction latcr
in the evening was enjoyed by a řine
group. The ceiebration concluded with a
dance at night with Texas Pride playing.
This event again was ternied a huge
success irispite of the threat of Hurricanc
Allen.
Then Thursday night, August 14th at 8
p.m., we had our regutar lodge meeting
with a nice attendance. President Haroíd
Bergmann opened the meeting by
leading the group in reciting the pledge
of allegiance,
The president then appointed Edith
Pfeiffer to read the minutes and
correspondence in absence of Secretary
Jeanette Schoenst, who, also as youth
leader, attended the SPJST youth camp
at Val Verde, August 13-16, also
accompanied by our other youth leaders,
Sisters Doris Eckermann and Paula Key.
Lee Leonhardt gave the treasureťs
report. Both readings were accepted as
given.
Sister Dorothy Oltmann read the
mortuary standing and the natnes of our
new members, námely, Brothers Otto
Heinze Jr. and David Allen Mohr. A
motion was made, seconded and carried
by unanimous vote. We warmly weleome
thern intó our midst.
The president expressed his thanks to
all the members who brought cakes, etc.
and also those who worked or helped in
any way to make this ceiebration a huge
success as well as enjoyabie.
Edith Pfeiffer setít thank you cards to
donors of the prizes on our příze tickets
and toLsupporíers of our auction.
For new business, Brother Leonhardt is
to sec if the old speaker can be repaired
and also get the prices of new speakers.
The Food Committee stated that the
lodge will furnish cold euts for our
September meeting.
With no further business, our meeting
adjourned. Afterwards all enjóyed cold
euts, a great variety of delicious cakes,
kolache, dips and chips and refresh-
ments.
Following the adjournment and meal,
the group was wonderfully entertained by
Brothers Aubrey Hackemack and I.J.
Vašek on the accordions and Brother
Steve Krenek on the harmonica.
Frequently, numerous selections were
accompanied by the singing of Alice
Peschal and Steve Krenek. A great big
thank you to our entertainers!

LODGE NO. 177, ACADEMY
Dear Readers:
The August 131h. monthly lodge
meeting was ealled to order with all
officers presem, except Bili Hutka; also
all committee chairmen were presem,
except Jmout a Ramm.
The pledge of allegiance was led by our
very speciál guest, State Field Manager
Gene McBrtde; he and his fa milý
attended the lodge meeting. We were
very happy to háve lbem attend and we
hope that they tclt weleome and will
Benavidcs and Cy Land lil; and one
transferee: Dárlene R. (Pecha!) Sefcik

Jerry Tomastik. Frankie has doně an
outstanding job as Financial secretary.
This is a job that most members také for
granted but if ít is not doně correctly,
many things can go wrong. In behalť of
the Lodge No. 177 members, we wish to
thank Frankie and wish her much
success in the ťuture.
The membership nominated two
persons, Jackie Beck and Helen Bland.
The new ťinancial secretary is Helen
Bland, Congratulations to Helen and I
know she will do a good job for Lodge
No, 177,
All committee chairmen gave good
reports, The bar sales háve been very
good and bar chairman Wilbert Ramm
thanked everyone who has worked
behtnd the bar. Libbie Bartek gave the
kitchen report; she also gave a good
report as well as the other chairmen.
Rae Lisenbe reported that Tony Poncik
has been in the hospital. Here’s hoping
for a speedy recovery.
All the Board of Trustees were present,
except Bili Hutka. Board chairman Otis
Beck gave the report. The board
discussed buying a new compressor for
the air-conditioning. A new ice machine
was purchased, new tables and chairs
were also purchased for the youth room,
new youth room keys were made and
Cecil Lagrance ťixed the lock on the
youth room dooř, Thanks, Cecil! The
board also discussed paving more
parking area.
Youth Leader Bettye Hawk gave the
youth report. She reported that the youth
dub won several First places at District II
YAD, and the youth members will attend
State YAD. She also reported the youth
members wanted to háve one more
outing this summer so they went to
Astroworld August 21 st via chartered
hus furnished by Lodge No. 177. She also
reported the youth members wil! háve a
garage sále Del ober 4th. If anyone
wishes to donate anything to the youth
duh, please bring it by the lodge on any
of the lodge functions and someone will
be glad to gel it to the youth dub; also
tln*re will be a bake sále at this sále. We
need more youth members to get
invoíved in the youth dub; it looks to me
like you're missing a lot of fun. Bettye
reporn 1 on camp and she said that all of
the you tušters had a good time.

Committee was appointed consisting of
Dorothy Lisenbe, Louise Cox and Carol
Meredith.
Cm tis Hawk discussed the possibility of
purchasing a bus for the lodge. There
was much díscussion and a committee of
the following were appointed: Cecil
Lagrance, Louis Driska, Curtis Hawk
