Czechoslovakia.
Most of the costumes are from
Moravia or Slovakia because the
Bohemian costumes are not as
coiorful.
Miss Houdek visited Czechoslovakia

Miss Agnes Houdek wrote a weekly
CZECH COLUMN in the VĚSTNÍK

At Home In SPJST
Museum
A collection of fořty - four (44) dolls
in Czech costumes “kroje” were
donated to the SPJST Museum by
Miss Agnes Houdek of Ennis - Dallas

The costumes were made by Miss
Houdek and each represents the
traditional dress of a particular village
or section of Czechoslovakia.
Miss Agnes Houdek insured their
authenticity through research and
painstakingly searching for supplies to
duplicate the costumes.
A friend made some of the little
boots, another hand - knitted the
stockings, and still another furnished
the handmade Bobbin láce.
The rest of the “kroj” (costume)
