District News and Updates
Free Czech Classes Being Offered at
Spring Branch Community Center in Houston
Spring is here and many people are
ready to start taking trips or getting
involved in new activities. Those of us
who háve a little Czech blood or an inter-
est in Czech heritage may want to také
advantage of the opportunity to learn
some Czech. As we Czechs say,
“Whatever you learn, it will always come
in handy later. . This is especially true
if you are planning to visit the Czech
Republic.
This letter is to announce that I am
currently teaching conversational Czech.
In the classes, we cover the simple, daily
usage of Czech words and phrases. I also
try to include some interesting historical
discussion as well.
You are welcome to attend these free
classes every Tuesday, from 2-4 p.m. at
the Spring Branch Community Center,
located at 1721 Pech Road in Houston.

Czech Class Being Offered at
Austin Community College
A conversational Czech II class will
be offered at Austin Community College
in Austin, Texas, beginning March 22,
1994. The class will meet on Tuesday
and Thursday nights from 7:30 until 9
p.m. at the Reagan Campus Room 215.
The prerequisite for enrolling in the
course is Czech I and/or some knowledge
of the Czech language and the ability to
speak is required. Emphasis is on vocab-
ulary and conversation.
