Book Space Now for
Annual Spring Sále
Looking for a spring fund raiser for
your school club, civic group—or your-
self? Then you may háve justfound what
you’re looking for. Lodge 24, Cyclone
invites area families, groups, collectors
and dealers to participate in its big annual
Spring County-wide Garage Sále to be
held at Flag Halí on Saturday, Apri! 16,
1994.
Shoppers will be able to browse and
shop for a wide. variety of merchandise
ranging from antiques and collectibles,
arts and crafts to household items, cloth-
ing, musical insíruments, furniture and
homemade food items. An inviting
selection of food and refreshments will
also be available for purchase through the
kitchen and from Youth Club members.
As with previous sales, the April 16
sále will be conducted inside of Flag
Halí; however, outdoor spaces will also
be available for those individuals or orga-
nizations with larger items to seli, such as
farm equipment, automobiles or other big
items.
Both indoor and outdoor seller spaces
are available for $20 each and can be
reserved by calling Wilbert or Margaret
Mikeska at 985-2484. Also, please notě
that as in past sales, Lodge 24 will also
háve a booth at the sále. Members, as
well as non-members, who would like to
contribute their “garage sále” type items
to the Lodge 24 booth are invited to do
so. If you would like to contribute an
item, please call Bernice Šebek at 985-
2361 to make arrangements for delivery
of your merchandise.
Flag Halí is located approximately 12
miles east of Temple—past Seaton and
Zabcikville; make a right on FM 485
(blinking light at intersection), then a
right on FM 964.
If you’re a lodge member and would
like to help ouí with the upcoming sále,
please contact any Lodge 24 officer or
trustee, or make plans to attend our next
lodge meeting on Monday, March 14.

Reports on
February Meeting
Dear Members,
This is the second monthly meeting
since the offícial change of the meeting
dáte from the First Sunday to the second
Sunday. So, with this in mind, Lodge
Karel Jonas will hold its March monthly
meeting on the second Sunday, the 13th,
at 2 p.m. in the meeting room at 106
Leveridge Street.
A report on the “Officers’ Workshop,”
to be held on the 12th of March, will be
on th agenda along with other reports and
business.
Wednesday, March 2, 1994—VĚSTNÍK/5
The fratemal hour luncheon will begin
after the business meeting.
February’s monthly meeting on the
second Sunday, the 13th, started on time
with a quorum present. The meeting
moved along quickly even though all
reports were made and several motions
were made and passed. It adjourned in
less than one hour.
There were three guests present and,
as always, the lodge officers were glad
they came.
All of the food and drinks were donat-
ed by the members for the fratemal hour
luncheon. Enough was on hand so that
one was able to háve seconds.
The list of names of the “Lost
Battalion” still is not complete and will
be published when it is ready.

“Tony” Kelner advised that every effort
will be made to háve the presentation of
50-year pins at the April lOth meeting.

Polka-Waltz Fest a
Great Success
Dear Readers,
Our Valentine’s Polka-Waltz Fest was
a great success! We want to thank all of
you who attended and for all of the work-
ers for their time.
Bobby Jones and The Vrazels really
entertained us for the entire afternoon and
everyone seemed to háve a great time.
Again, Franklin and Lois Elles did a fan-
tastic job of putting it all together. A spe-
ciál thank you to Barbara and Joe Stubbs
for promoting our fest all over the coun-
try. Iťs great to háve non-member
friends working for us! Finally, thanks to
all of the ladies who furnished kolaches
and cakes: Sylvia Kocian, Henrietta
Vaněk, Helen Kalmus, Lois Elles and
Kathy Ahlstrom. There’s nothing like a
good kolaehe to go with good music and
cold beer (or coffee)! Make plans to join
us again next year!
Officers, don’t forget the workshop
and awards dinner Corning up on March
12 at Lodges 47, Seaton and 24, Cyclone.
We will meet again on Wednesday,
March 9th. Hope to see you then.

Lodge 35, Elk
Reports on
February Meeting
Member of Lodge 35, Elk met on
February 13 at the Lodge Halí.
President Henry Breitkreutz called the
meeting to order. The Pledge of
Allegiance was recited and a moment of
silence was observed for all of the depart-
ed members.
The minutes were read by Virlene
Kelley and the treasurer's report was by
Nancy Milner.
Visitors were Joe Parker, Hubby
Frazier, Jessica Piek, Melanie Piek,and
Kelly Piek.
Correspondence was read concerning
the 1993 Lodge Incentive Program
Awards Dinner.
Our 75-year members are Frances
Morris and John M. Jurecka. Fifty-year
members are Adele Rendek, Billy
Bordovsky and Marguerite Brinkley.
Sales Representative Henry
Breitkreutz and Johnny Holub were invit-
ed to a workshop on March 12 at Lodge
47, Seaton and an awards dinner at Lodge
24, Cylone.
A thank you was received by Lodge
35 for their contribution to the
Scholarship fund.
The youth club had good attendance
and had a Valentine contest. They háve
not set a dáte for their cake walk. The
youth were íaking cookies to the Mart
Rest Home for Valentines Day after the
meeting.
Those having birthdays in February
were Anna Dennis and Virlene Kelley. A
very pretty birthday cake, shaped as a
Valentine was made by Junior
Breitkreutz. He also donated a ceramic
dish of candy won by Eugene Pavelka.
Dooř prizes were won by Helen
Pospisil and Amy Dennis.
Lodge 29, Taylor Kitchen Crew Brings
"Good Taste" to State Tarok Tournament
This is the kitchen crew who prepared the meal and desserts for Lodge 29
Taylor, the hosting lodge of the recent State Tarok Tournamwent. Picture
from left are: Nita Horn, Gertrude Safarik, Bennie Stried, Lilian Sakewitz,
Frances Tallas, Laverne Eulenfeld, Lillie Krueger and Allen Matthews. The
ladies said that Brother Matthews was the “king” of the day, to which he
responded, “If Tm king, that makes you seven ladies queens of the day.”
The Sunshine Committee reported that
Martha Mladenka had broken her hip.
Nancy Milner thanked all who háve
helped her with the books and the income
reports.
Entertainment Chairman Eugene
Pavelka asked for dooř volunteers on
Saturday night and thanked Cynthia
Milner for compiling a book on dance
bands and their telephone numbers.
Our next meeting will be on March 13
with a pot luck supper.

to Meet This Friday,
March 4
Dear Members,
The first quarterly meeting of 1994
will be held Friday night, March 4 at 7
p.m. Food and refreshments will be
served after the business meeting. Please
make an extra effort to attend and come
enjoy fellowship with your fellow lodge
members. Leťs start the New Year off
right by attending these quarterly lodge
meetings. We need your input and sup-
port.

Lodge 80, Holland
Reports on
February Meeting
Dear Members and Friends,
President Harold Rohde called the
lodge meeting to order on February 6th at
2 p.m.
After the Pledge of Allegiance and a
moment of silence for our departed mem-
bers, Secreíary-Treasurer Glen Latham
read the minutes from the January meet-
ing. They were approved as read.
Brother Glen also gave the committee
reports tumed into him. All committees
are doing quite well.
Communication from the Supreme
Lodge included a check for certificates,
scholarship information, and 50-year
members’ names. They are: Ida
Borowski, Albína Doskocil, and Marjorie
Ruemke. They will be honored at the
March meeting which will begin at 3
p.m. These speciál members will receive
50-year membership pins.
New members accepted into the lodge
were Jimmy Wolf and Connie Wolf.
District Two President Arleen Mayeux
sent a letter inviting everyone to the
Spring Meeting on March 13, 1994 in
Seaton.
Plans are in the making for the annual
picnic on May 15, 1994. Everyone mark
your calendars for that event.
The lodge will be hosting the annual
appreciation dinner for the Holland youth
and the Holland Boosters on Sunday,
March 6,1994 at 7 p.m.
The youth will all be recognized for
their projects at the Bell County Youth
Fair and Livestock Show which was held
in February. Lodge members who had
entries included: Clinton Arnold, Jared
Arnold, Tyler Brook Hill, Ann Ivicic,
Michelle Ivicic, Brent Liles, Dawn
Pacha, Dusty Parker, Lacey Riggin,
