A
w \ 11 SPJST members are invit-
ed to Friday Night Live! this Friday,
Apríl 4 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the
Cultural Activities Center in Temple
(located at 3011 North Third Street,
next dooř to the Frank W. Maybom
Convention Center). Friday Night
Live! will feature great exhibits,
card tricks, “period” demonstrations,
music, and a culture of fun with light
snacks and a cash bar. The atmos-
phere will be casual.
SPJST is sponsoring the event,
and there is no charge for SPJST
members and their invited guests—
just mention you are an SPJST
member at the dooř.
Friday Night Live! is a kick-off to
Saturday nighťs performance! See
Intergalactic Nemesis before it
opens this summer off Broadway at
7 p.m. on Saturday, Apríl 5 at the
CAC in Temple! The year is 1933
and the universe is being threatened
by evil, slime-filled Zygonians. The
only thing standing between Earth
and certain annihilation is intrepid
girl reportér Molly Sloan. Salvage
Vanguard Theatre will re-create an
old style, sci-fi rádio seriál onstage
at the CAC complete with live
music, five actors and two Foley
sound effects artists. See page three
for admission infonnation.
Car Show Judges Needed
SPJST will sponsor the Third
Annual Bloomin’ Temple Car Show
on Saturday, Apríl 12 in downtown
Temple. Complete details appear on
the back page of this week’s Věstník
and at www.spjst.org. We are in
need of several more judges. If you
are interested, please give me a call
(254) 534-0807 or email
melaniez@vvm.com. The time
commitment is from 12 noon to
about 1:30 p.m. Iťs a lot of fun, and
you get to see some of the coolest
cars in the Central Texas area.
Either way—judging or not—come
on out for a great day of fun. For car
show information, visit
www.spjst.org.
The Bloomin’ Temple festival
will feature performers including
Jáni Lange from Warrant, Roger
Creager, Earl Thomas Conley,
MuddCatts, and Binge. Activities
include a barbecue cook-off, arts and
crafts, food and business booths,
kids zone, camival, 5K fun run, and
a bike ride. For a four-day event
schedule and complete information,
