since these two areas are adequately
covered in district and statě
seminars and training classes.
Our national and statě laws define
a Fraternal Benefit Society as
“Having a lodge systém with
ritualistic work.” The more efficient
our lodges are, the better we are
insuring and guaranteeing our
future as a Fraternal Benefit
Society. The United States Internal
Revenue Code specifies two primary
requisites for a Fraternal Benefit
Society: “a) Must operáte on the
864.04 lodge systém, and b) Provide for the
966 72 Payment °I life, sick, accident oř
487*70 other benefits to members oř their
i dependents.” Thus we see the
83.80 specific reference to a “lodge
212.80 systém” and it is through the lodge
systém that we must operáte and
1,381.95 improve our Services. It behooves
every officer mentioned above to
attend these workshops as part of
402.38 his and obligation in being an
U5 00 °^cer *n l°cal lodge. We all
282 74 *earn through these workshops. In
1 816 ] 03 the meantime, we would welcome
suggestions that any of you might
210.21 háve about what topič oř topics to
98.22 include in any of the sections at the
185.94 workshops in 1982. Those of you out
*n the and on the local lodge
’ level may háve some definite ideas
267.85 as to w^at needs discussing. If you
96.62 do, let us know.

announcement in the box.
